Quick question, SPOILERS!!!!!

Wolverine wakes up far into the future at the end of the film, with the past cast having to deal with Apocalypse in the next film, doesn't the end of DOFP let us know they win already?

I have no details of the next film. However, if the battle with Apocalypse occurs before he wakes up, then yes. If it's after, then no. I don't think knowing they will survive against Apocalypse is a big deal anyway. Heroes just about always win against their enemies in comics and movies. Do you really think Apocalypse will kill off all or most of the X-MEN and rule the world at the end of the next movie? We can all pretty much say the X-MEN will save the day. I just want to see and EPIC battle/struggle before that inevitably happens.

He could be involved but just not remember yet. He does ask about things that have happened remember so he's a little foggy at this point.

I guess so. But wouldn't DOFP mean Wolverine isn't gonna be fighting Apoc? I mean he doesn't have his adamantium yet and Apoc is supposed to happen just after the end of DOFP (1973) right? So it seems they wiped out X1,X2 etc. and just created new problems with continuity instead :lol

Now you get to the issue they messed with the continuity so much if you stop and think about trying to unravel this mess you will go from plot hole to plot hole. They say its 2 seperate time lines but that not really the case as it is a reset of the original. So all the stuff that went before never really happened.

I still dont see why we had to see all these characters back could they not stay dead since they were never going to use them again. I suppose since they altered the past the future will unfold differently so those stories will not happen in the same way.

By doing this soft reboot they in effect negated all the previous movies except for first class. Which is fine for them since they made thier money on it , but in terms of the movies as a whole its turned in to a messs.

I think this one confirms it; Clint Eastwood had an affair in Australia sometime in 1968:

:lol

U know at the time I thought he and Charles were the old farts of the franchise, but damn he looks young.

Oh my Halle :naughty

14 years later and she’s still the most attractive woman in the cast.

Despite positive review I think this is a step back in term of story telling now comic book movies will be less likely to take more risks such as killing of characters. I enjoyed the last stand and it did not bother me one that they killed of the characters since it served the story and I like how that feed in the wolverine which I think is a great movie.

Frankly I could have done with out seeing that last scene they should have left it as a mystery instead of totally messing with the continuity. They could have kept the movie goers in the dark and only time will tell if the events they changed that day had a lasting impact on the future.

Sorry man, the series as a whole has been filled with nothing but dark, and depressing crap happening to these characters. This film finally gave everyone a happy ending, something that hasn’t really happened in an X-Men movie since X1.

Apocalypse is coming, and you’d have to be lying to yourself if you don’t think he’s offing some mutants.

It was just a nice 'retirement' nod. It's not like all the mutants they killed between 1st class and DofP came back. Not everything was undone, the X-Men just got some peace for once.

Couldn't they had Cyclops shoot his beam just once during his scene, Idk, maybe to kill a spider on the wall or something and then just say "sorry, I hate spiders".

OK, caught this today with the wife and kid. They liked it. I liked it too, which is saying a lot for a guy who didn't want to like it. I actively tried to not like this movie. I failed. There were a few things that bugged me. The look of QS being one. I loved how he acted and how they used him, I just didn't like the look. Other thing was the white in future Logan's hair. Just didn't make sense, the others were not that much older, why did he need gray streaks.

All in all, good and solid flick.
