So, I figured I'd ask this here since I guess the films connect.

But at the end of X3 Last Stand, is it implied that the "cure" is only temporary? Or that only certain powerful mutants can rediscover their powers? Since it only showed Magneto, is it reasonable to think that Mystique will eventually be blue again? Or does it take a certain mastery, discipline and self-understanding that a thinker like Magneto or Professor X would possess?

I dunno because my soul will always deny the movie ever happened.

Magneto and Iceman look to be busting Rogue out of imprisonment, she woudn't be imprisonned if she wasn't a powered mutant, so the cure was temporary for all.

Basically in X-Men they try to register Mutants, this was the humane way of trying to deal with them.

in X2 Mankind is almost killed off by Mutants...

That leads into X3 where they again try a humane way of dealing with them, they try to cure them to remove the threat, this turns out to be only temporary and ignites division between humans and Mutants.

By the time DOFP comes around they have exhausted humane ways of dealing with the threat of Mutantkind and decide imprisonment and extermination is the course of action for dealing with them.

It's the endgame which Magneto prophesised humanity will eventually instigate. I Hope there's a little 'I told you so' scene between Mags and Xavier.

Good point. Will be interesting to find out what really has ben going on with Rogue. It was pretty clear in X3 that she did take the cure right? I barely remember much from that movie...

I really, really hope Rogue isn't the week pity party character again this time. They completely ruined her in X3 so I hope this film makes up for her role in that one. I want to see the strong, assertive Rogue from the comics.

She likely won't get Ms Marvel powers but it wouldn't hurt to see her borrowing powers, maybe in combination and take out a sentinel or two.

Yeah, I would at least be happy with this. Hopefully she takes some powers and fights.

Anna Paquin even thinks the way her character has been handled sucks... I remember seeing an interview with her at Comic Con saying how she wishes she could fly and have strength and be more like her comic counterpart. I think she was even looking at Bryan Singer when she said it. :lol

Rogue sucks so far on film.

Wrong movie.
