Personally I think, overall, it's a nice figure, but it is nowhere close to being a near-enough two hundred dollars worth nice figure.

You want to price like Hot Toys and Enterbay, then you have to deliver the kind of quality they are capable of too, right across the board. This, for me, just doesn't manage to do that.

The head sculpts are great, the variety of accessories is nice, but the body used and the tailoring just isn't in the ballpark for this kind of pricetag in my opinion.

That said, I truly hope those that took the plunge enjoy their purchases. :)

One of the things that I think is at least worthy of consideration, is that while Sideshow seems to be upping the price they are matching it by the amount of stuff you get in the box. Throwing in multiple hands, accessories, etc. It seems like the majority of their releases of late have two heads in the box.

In other words, you get a hell of a lot more with a Sideshow figure than you do a Hot Toys figure.

But at the same time, it seems the hobby has driven more towards "display pieces" rather than "I like to have fun with my figures", and most people don't seem to care about the extras.

^I'd rather have a nice looking figure than a **** ton of accessories that I'll just throw in a box and never look at or use.

Most of it label whores, it looks better when it's expensive and a bigger label. Granted Hot toys has a solid body but don't offer a 2nd sculpt and a joker would run abot 250 almost 300 bucks and you would get far less. But it's hot toys its the difference between buying a courtier gown from channel or off the rack at baby phat.

every company has a license on their bodies and have to stick with them for thick and thin and everyone is sue happy so if one for arm looks like another then their is an argument of who diserves to keep it and who needs to pay out for using it. Sad really it's no longer about collecting its a pissing contest between companies.

anywho my joker will be here Thursday or Friday I forgot to check but I know I only have a few short days and im soo ubber happy.

I really don't care which company does DC but so far my money is on Sideshow. I hate hot toys stuff too expenseive and they don't complete anything at least sideshow is giving some variety.

Mine just came in, and in my opinion it's amazing I have the DX 11&12 and to be honest I don't mind the price I paid for this Joker. I think it looks great, he's my first Sideshow figure and I love it the accessorie options along make this thing worth it. Can't wait for the Harley Quinn.

So after handling him for a little bit here are some thoughts.

1) Great head sculpts.
2) Clothing is good but could have been better. Shirt collars always want to point up, jacket collars always raised. You are going to have to do some homework to get them to look right. Another thing to note is that the clothing is not fitted around the body. The Joker 2.0 for example was extremely well fitted , the clothing here can easily be slid on and off and has a looser or baggier quality.
3) Sideshow includes pegs for each swappable hand, something Hot Toys could learn from.
4) The Accessories don't look right in some of the hands, for example, the revolver just doesn't seem to want to sit right in the left or right hands that are designed for it and when you do get it situated, something just looks off.
5) The body is not the greatest. Trying to swap the heads is like a tugging match, it's really stuck in there, the knees are extremely hard to bend and the feet are just plain wobbly.
6) Good effort from Sideshow, but they are no where near Hot Toys territory yet when it comes to the final product and presentation.

Edit: I actually decided to return this figure and ask for a refund. After going back and realizing this figure cost $190, I simply cannot justify the price when compared to the quality of the final figure. I also cancelled my Harley Quinn based on this release. I'll just stick to the Premium Format line for these figures.

Some quick photos with my camera phone.

I'm in on this and Bats, the rest are optional. $200 doesn't buy what it used to.

I hate the white gloves, but that's DC's control art nowadays.

it's so badly futzed in the video, it's hard to tell. the original design, if you can get it to look like this, is amazing:

can't wait to see in-hand picks from the forum peeps.

I think that's kato's handmade suit/outfit. I don't think futzing can make it look that good. Maybe ironing the suit could make it look almost as good as the proto...maybe.

I got mine in today and the review for it will be up Friday, also in the video, i'll be giving one of these away to one lucky person.

Personally i really dig the figure. This thing is creepy and i love it. Could it be improved, yes. A few things bug me but i'll touch on those in the video (i gotta save something for you guys to watch, right? hahaha)

Here are a couple pictures i took though.

looking forward to your review, man! :clap Like I said in thr yoda thread, really like seeing you branch out from time to time to some stuff other than TFs. Though, I watch your video for thr DMK Optimus at least twice a month. I still can't decide on that thing :lol

I'd be willing to bet that Maglor (the futzmaster IMO) will be able to make it look great

Got mine today. Absolutely love it! All of the negative reviews must be from die hard HT-only collectors. This is easily one of Sideshow's best. A great start to the line. He's got so many great options its hard to choose what to use! Right now I've gone with the buzzer hand shake pose and holding the cane in the left hand. I'll probably switch over to hatted and trenched tomorrow holding the Laughing Fish :rock

Thank you VERY much. The reception has been terrific and really has me excited about doing more.

As for the DMK Optimus, if you're on the fence, i'd probably pass on him. He's a very fragile figure. As you go along, i do recommend gluing parts as you build him to make him more solid. But that's tough because you don't know what to glue. When it's put together, it looks terrific. But it is a model kid, the plastic isn't anything outstanding. It's not gonna handle a drop test for example lol

So do you think since I already have the Asia Exclusive DOTM Optimus, I probably don't need the DMK one? Sorry for asking this random question. I'm not a youtuber so I've never had the chance to pick your brain about certain TFs :lol

(Sorry to my fellow freaks for getting ot, just been wanting to know about this TF figure for awhile now :lol)

This is a very well made figure, with a bit of modification, turned out to be a very impressive looking Joker. Thank you Sideshow for providing this beautiful piece of art
