Why do you want numbering i prefer the non numbered then you never know how many they actualy made.

Years ago when they were still DC Direct they virtualy made statues to order, preorders would be some times nearly a year in advance. You would order from say the January Previews for November release.

Nice, I had all of them up to Miller before I had to sell my collection at the time. I'd Like to get back Some of the Original ones I had but I'm not to into the newer ones they've put out.

It's just a personal preference. I feel with a signed es there is less chance of dc producing on demand whenever they want which takes away from being 'limited'. They would simply produce on demand without any variation. I really doubt if they wanted to re-release say batman beyond they would make any alterations since it wasn't signed, and to me that takes away the memorabilia from collecting. I enjoy collecting and looking back at originals that are no longer attainable and appreciate it even more if they've aged well and sought after.

Dammit! I have the worst luck with these. Picked up the Sean Murphy statue at my LCS and it looks like the paint app on the face is partly missing. I actually inspected it in the store but was only looking for damage and chipping, didn't bother to look at the face. If anyone who has it can please post a close up of the face. I googled for images, but didn't see a good close up (a lot of them are also prototypes). I am not sure if I should return it (don't know if I even can) or just get another one and sell this for a loss.

Yeah, it looks like the grey paint on the face is too thick, filling in most of the detail and then the front facing side of his face is missing the black wash, though the back facing side appears to have it (but also the thick paint, so still doesn't look as good as the box).

Hi everyone!

I am from Singapore and just started collecting Batman Black and White statues and I am really liking it. I was at a local collectibles store and chanced upon a preorder for Batman by Greg Capullo. I loved his art and run on the Batman comic series and preordered it immediately.

I then went online to look at other statues and was surprised to see it has over 50 plus statues in the line, many of which looked absolutely outstanding. Kicking myself now for not keeping an eye out for them in the past. Going back to the store, I order the Rafael Grampa and Sean Murphy statues too which should be arriving soon.

The first Black and White statue in my collection though was the Frank Miller 2nd ed statue. Picked it up at a slightly more expensive price than the normal price range at another collectibles store. One of my favourite series and rendition of Batman, it now awaits the addition of other statues from the line.

The only problem I face is the shipping cost which is about US$25 for each statue, effectively increasing the total cost by about a good 25 %. Really puts a dent in my attempts to get more to add into my collection so for now I will just aim to get the ones i really like and go from there.

Anyways, I am happy to start collecting and will most likely be continuing to do so, maybe even branching out into other lines like the Superman Man of Steel line and Wonder Woman Art of War line

Yeah, I feel that postage sting too. So far the ones I've purchased from eBay have set me back about $50 each for shipping to Australia.

Oh a positive note, I picked up a DETOLF today!

That Harley is cool. Ah, if we could get a black & white Timm Poison Ivy in a pose similar to this now as well...

Would love a whole series of Timm Bat black & whites (and the same from Darwyn Cooke, actually).. but I'm sure everyone could name an artist they'd like to see a whole rogues gallery from!

I just hope we are getting re-releases, maybe 1 to 2 every year. I dont mind having small aesthetics changes like a logo change or a slightly different color. Really liked the ones from Eduardo Risso and David Mazzucchelli so I am hoping they do it.

Also, I think it will be pretty cool to have a Bruce Wayne statue, now the question is from who

Would be nice to get an Alfred EXACTLY like this. Would fit right in with the bw theme and holding the mask/cowl would look sick - granted they give it to a sculptor that will do it justice

I just sold my Batman Black & White Bruce Timm statue for $50 because one of the finger broke off and a significant chip on one ear. Hope I didn't sold it too cheap!

With a bit of paint and modeling cement, it can probably be repaired to a point whr the damages isn't really noticeable. Takes abit of skill but its doable

Don't think so. Timm's is going for $80+ lately. If you didn't sell it on the bay and $50 excludes shipping, then it sounds like a decent deal. Only the rare ones (Bermejo Joker, Mazzucchelli Bats, etc.) would sell for a better price even with broken pieces / chips.

Agreed, I'm familiar with using epoxy, I'm guessing that will do too. Too bad I'm ocd in the fact that knowing it's chipped devalues it for me. :lol

Yeah $50 with shipping paid by the buyer. Kinda sad I had to part with it, but I'm hoping to re-buy a new one it some day. Would you say the videogame Arkham B&W is rare as well?

Arkham Asylum one, right?

It is a rare piece now, but does not sell for a very high price. Seen it going for $100+.

BTW, do you have more B&Ws to sell? If yes, a lot of us can help you with that. :lol

Yes that's the one.

Unfortunately I sold off all of my statues (including the JLU (9" Maquettes) because one day they decided to commit suicide from my shelf. None of them suffered major damage, just minor chips here and there so I sold all of them in hopes of rebuilding the collection eventually.

Crazy I know! :lol
