You know.. although I'm fine with mine as is, it does make a difference with the eyes looking more screen accurate.

Too bad I couldn't be bothered doing the mod. :lol

They offered me three options

1. Full refund and return the item
2. Partial refund of $35.00 and keep the item
3. One day shipping of a new replacement. After the new one arrives i can print the return label for free and ship the used item back to them on their dime.

Stand up company if i do say so myself.

Ill have a new replacement on Friday, and i have until September 7th to return the original. Perfect since now that i have one i don't want to be without it. This way i wont have to.

Good to hear.

I ordered a new C-3PO and definitely got one that had been opened and displayed before, couple small blemishes and his arm is loose. Im ok woth what i recieved and will keep it but really would like to know why i paid for a NEW item and got a probably returned item...

WTF, that sounds familiar... Because I'm not too happy either! I received mine yesterday. The boxes were just fine and everything else seemed to be OK too, at first glance. But when I got to check the item a bit closer... There were a couple of scuffs on his thigh and some tiny scratches all over the figure. And some glue residue also, I think. Nothing major, kinda, BUT: I paid for a new one - I paid a big pile of dough and I got... This?!? :gah:

Plus the instruction manual had definitely been opened before, just look at the photos. The bag was wrinkled and had a small tear on it, close to the clear tape. Or was your manual bagged like this too??

I had a clean black cloth under the 3PO when I examined it. It left dusty footprints on it:

I wonder what's the SideShow's policy with these "tiny" issues... Let's just say, that I'm not one of their favorite customers, anyway - and I won't probably become one either :wave

It's an awesome figure - when it's brand new. I love the base too!

In my opinion, ALL the pivots are a bit loose on this one... Especially on the ankles, so the base is essential. And there's no proper clicking sound when I move the limbs around. Well, I'm not sure if there should be. The head can't be moved up & down more than 1 centimeter, or it pops off. So, nice articulation, my brothers! :clap

I'm not sure if there's a point, but here's some other pics I took:

That's probably what the last guy who owned that figure did. ;)

Cartman'd just want to hope that the issues the 'last guy' had are different enough from the ones he has.

I turn the lights on only intermittently to make sure I keep up with the battery changes. It does look better with the mod for sure, but... geez, the two minutes of effort, where will it come from :lol

That sucks SSSeeker, it really does. You got a returned set for sure. The booklet should be flat as a pancake because of how it is packed, and the tear is a giveaway. HLJ still have this in stock.

I got a full refund from SS for the one they sent me, and then ordered a mint one from HLJ for a hundred bucks less. It'd be worth the effort - and for me it was a fair bit of effort - because as you say, when this figure is 100% it really is awesome. I hope it works out.

But considering Sideshow will take the thing back and pay for return shipping how can they be so stupid and not inspect inside the box before shipping? I mean a minute of their time to save lots of trouble for everybody and save on shipping which have to cost around $50 or something at the very least.

That's unacceptable.
That does look like an opened item.
You got to contact the seller.
At the very least they may offer a partial refund, but if that's not good enough, go for an exchange. You paid full price so you should get a new one.

They had said 2014, so I was expecting it to fall at around February/March of '14 like Threepio did this year.

But not seeing either of them at SDCC is discouraging...

Got my replacement today from Amazon, and thank god this one was brand new. But some of the parts had bad bumps in the diecast but it had really tight joints. So i took both legs, the left arm, back of the head and the batteries from the new one and made what i can finally call a perfect figure. I seriously love this guy now that he's tight and no bumps in the diecast. Also got my Roscolux swatchbook in the mail today and used #321 Soft Golden Amber and his eyes are dead on. Way better then the tab route i used originally that i THOUGHT was good. Now i have my perfet C-3PO. Bring on R2!

How many layers did you go with?

Not so fast. This new one appears to be sideways, where most figures out of box stand straight up vertically. That could be a problem unless you're only planning to pose him acting specific scenes. ;)

Congrats on the perfect 3PO Cartman :hi5: I think Pixel is confused about your sideways figure. It looks to me like the issue is not with the figure but with your display. Just rotate your shelves 90 degrees clockwise and the problem is fixed.

I knew my level was faulty! :slap
