Batman faking his death so he can have a normal life showed a lack of understanding of the character.

It seemed like a betrayal of the character they'd established.

Nolan's Batman retires to Italy? Ummmm, okaayy . . .

I was excited to see Neeson back as the taunting Al Ghul, but was disappointed when he was merely a fevered hallucination.

(I wish Nolan had a Rachel flashback where her character is played by a fourth actress the audience hasn't seen before. Just to maintain the inconsistency.) :wink1:

I was hoping for Liam Neeson's main cameo to be in a flashback with Bane and/or Talia. Could have been shown during Talia's story. Didn't really care for the hallucination.

Gordon didn't tell Blake that Bruce was Batman. Blake figured that out himself.

The hallucination was one if my favourite scenes
:lol

Would have loved to see Ra's/Talia interaction though in flashback, but I was very happy with what we got

It wasn't bad and it did have a touch of humor. I guess I just expected a bit more.

If Gotham was at peace for 8 years, why did the League of Shadows still want to destroy it? It wasn't beyond saving, it was saved. Was it just Talia's revenge? If so, that's kinda lame.

That niggle aside, I fricking loved this movie. I've been waiting for a variation of this story to hit the big screen for 20 years (almost to the day) and this movie did not disappoint.

The 'peace' was simply on the outside, based on a lie, and sustained through the Harvey Dent act which gave the state possibly too much power for a democratic society

There were plenty of hints that the 99% were starting to feel disenfranchised and bereft of economic progress

Those were some of the hints I got that things weren't as they seemed, even before Bane came into the picture.

Of course add in Banes agenda to do what Ra's failed to do, to prove himself to Talia - and of course Talias thirst for vengeance, it all added up fine for me

I love the back break! It made me so happy!

It's funny how this was the most 'comic book' and yet least 'comic book' of all the Nolan films, anyone else get that feeling?

The Bane and Talia stuff

The Catwoman and Batman stuff

Robin and the amalgamation of all the comic versions into one

Yet the tone of the film was so bleak at times and ultimately Epic, not comic book like at all

There's things to nitpick about this movie but I thought it was very good. Catwoman was what made me most skeptical but I really liked this take on her. The ballroom scene reminded me of "Batman Returns".

Loved Talia. Everyone was so shocked, I'm like you didn't see the mark on her back after she got the Batpeen? But even Bruce didn't pay attention after he touched it.

My main gripe is Blake's name. I kept expecting a reveal that his real name was Richard Grayson since that's essentially the role he filled. And then his legal first name ended up being Robin :slap. Not sure why they couldn't have just established him as Grayson instead of creating a new character.

All in all this was a great Elseworld's take on Batman.

He had the brashness of Jason Todd and elements of Tim Drakes story (father died in similar circumstances involving gambling, and he figured out Wayne is Batman on his own)

He was basically all the Robins put into one

Of course he was a cop like Grayson is in his later years and had many other of Graysons classic traits

Going for my second viewing in about 30 minutes. Cannot wait to see this beast again. And the Trilogy in IMAX last night will always be the best nine hours I spent in a theatre ever.

Could not have said it better myself.

I really enjoyed the film. Better then begins but not as good as TDK

TDKR is not without it's problems. Needed more Batman for one. Also seemed to have some plot holes. Were the bad guys always going to blow up with gothom?? If they had an escape plan why not escape and blow up the City. Why wait the five months? Or if you are going to go down with the city, why not just blow it up? If it's because they want to give the city hope then that is a weak reason. What was their escape plan?? All the bridges were out. If you leave by air you would be shot down.

Bane planned on getting out somehow because he was going to come back and kill Bruce in the prison.

Any answers for all that? Am I just not remembering something?

Why does a man born and raised in an Arab prison have a whimsical English accent?

Just got back from the theater. I thought it was a great ending to the Nolan Batman trilogy. I liked it as much as TDK. Been waiting to see Hardy as Bane for sometime now and he didn't disappoint for me. I thought all of the others were very good as well, Hathaway and JGL especially. Everyone I was with had a great time and also enjoyed the movie, I will be seeing it again very soon. :clap

I saw the movie for the second time tonight and I loved it even more than the first. I think I was way too tired after the marathon to really appreciate this new one. So much better this time around!!

So do people think Selina and Bruce are married? Alfred said he had hoped in his vision to see Bruce with his wife (and some kids)

God, that ending was perfect!!
