Coming back from that much against anyone is impressive but its the Clippers. Not like they did it against the other team from LA or OKC out west. So saying they ARE going to win a 5th ring this year is as silly as Lebron and company saying what they said.

Thunder were down by 13 and just beat the Lakers.....are people really surprised that the Lakers are gonna lose this series?

Lakers have almost won two of the games they lost so maybe you can be a little surprised. They've played good games in both of those loses until the end. They're not a bad team.

I don't know what to say, but parts of me want to punch a freak hole in a wall!!!:slap

I'm not watching game 5, it's going to be UGLY!

It's a professional NBA team, the playoffs and they are the "Clippers" in name-only, they have a good team - it's not like they were playing the Sister's of Mercy out there. So yes, it is impressive any way you look at it.

I actually think the Lakers when on their game are a matchup nightmare for sa

I actually would have been much happier playing the Lakers - no slight to them but they are a team that we know. They are very predictable, much like the Spurs are and they have their fault's much like the Spurs do.

I am not looking forward to facing the Thunder at all and I'll be the first to admit, I think the Thunder might end our playoff run. They've handled the playoffs much better than I gave them credit for coming into the playoffs.

And a heartbroken bodie bows out...

*deletes thread*

This made me lol - you're on a roll lately :rotfl

Nothing that a good forearm shiver from Bynum won't cure, I'm sure...:lecture

JStep- I said it was impressive but the clippers aren't someone that I'm like omg they did it. Let's put it this way I'm not going to run around and pronounce things like the spurs version of wake has been doing.

Watched the Magic and Bird documentary last night on HBO on demand, It was really good, not that I didn't already respect those two guys but it made me have even more respect for them, especially for Bird and what he went through. Just awesome, and I loved Brian Gumble's quote at the end...."a pet peeve of mine is when people say Michael Jordan saved the NBA, BULL@#$%, Magic and Bird did"

Pau's got to step up. He was scared to hold the ball in the final secs of the last game. If he doesn't step up, the series will be over in 5.

Enjoy you time in the sun, because just like Lakers it will come to an end. We've had our time and have nothing to complain about. I'm sure we'll be back and competing for another title long after the sun has set on the Spurs. Once Timmy's gone you guys will be lottery bound once more.

probably, but I'm a spurs fan for life, been there for the bad and the good, if the spurs win this year and if they never win again I can live with that.

And you're right, the Lakers will always be a top team because it's a huge market and teams give them gifts all the time, the spurs have to earn their runs but drafting unknowns and signing players people never heard of. Why I feel the 4 titles the spurs have won are equal to the all the titles the Lakers have combined.

There's something to be said for teams that can do more with less due to better coaching, team chemistry, and finding diamonds in the rough vs. those who resort to the sexy, high profile players and coaches to win. But Duncan is one of the all-time great NBA players, so you can't discount that anymore than you can discount the impact of Kobe, Shaq, or Magic on the past success of the Lakers IMO.

:exactly: Spurs have had to fight, scratch and claw all the way to the top on their own with practically no help from anyone. They were never able to cherry pick other team's talent i.e. Gasol, Shaq, Kareem, Wilt...I can go on and on. Spurs had to draft, scout and pick from the dollar bin.

There is absolutely more value to a Spurs championship (and even a Chicago, Houston, Detroit championship etc) than a Laker championship just for the simple fact that pretty much every Laker championship has been gifted to them.

Bottom line is, I respect their franchise but let's face it, you have to respect the kid that fights his way out of poverty to make it to an Ivy League school (the Spurs) much more than the kid who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth (the Lakers).

For all the above reasons thats why I dont think many people would find a Heat Championship all that special, except for all the Miami residents, they would never stop talking.
