Wow! You're right! I just did a quick check on ebay and yeah, there are a lot of sellers with pretty good prices for Indy! Most of them are under $250 even with shipping!

I was thinking that the Enterbay New GOD Bruce Lee body would be better for the TOD Indy as there would be no visible elbow joint. Would it work in terms of size and getting the head on?

Any Bruce Lee body would be far too small for Indy, I would imagine. Plus, you would probably need to modify pegs, etc. to attache the head, hands, and feet. And supposedly there are some major QC issues with that Enterbay figure, though I'm not privy to the specifics.

More pics for fun! Enjoy!!

Awesome Temple of Doom Indy Rzeznikk !! My second favorite Indy in the franchise. If Hot toys doesn't officially announce this figure in the next 6 months i'm buying another Raiders Indy and shipping it to you to perform the same transformation - just name your price ! :clap

That sounds like a great idea if you never want to pose your figure because the rubber skin is so fragile and the range of articulation so poor and the joints prone to breaking in a gentle breeze - given you get a blemish-free, problem free body in the first place without having to return it at least twice at your expense before getting one of those rare creatures. The EB GoD body is crap mate, live with the visible elbow joint and enjoy being able to pose it :)

Capt Jack is frackin' awesome! With a capital AWE!

But that sculpt started out way better also. Not sure where Indy went wrong, but at least they brought him back around to a better-than-expected point.

Just opened mine and I have to say that I am impressed. My only gripes are the whip and belts. The whip just feels cheap and the braids are just too big. I will be either getting a custom one or just using the sideshow version. My belts feel like they are going to fall apart cause they are so fragile feeling. The sculpt looks pretty darn good and I just don't see the black around the eyes. Looks great in my opinion. Just need to decide if it's worth getting a custom whip and belts. Overall it's a very solid 8 out of 10 for me. Much better than the batman I just got.

Wow, that's a turnaround. Good to hear. But I'm jealous because you said you can't see any eyeliner on yours... and mine I think looks darker than it should. But I can live with it... not sure how that guy who wiped it off even did that. Too risky for me.

Well, tomorrow is the day. I'll either be one happy or frustrated Indy fan.

:rock

Most likely the former.

I'm very excited to have this Indy AND Capt Jack coming in late November. These two icons will looks very cool together I think.

I got mine from Fanboy with the shipper inside of another box. Now that was HUGE! :lol

I got mine from them too. . . well, 'getting' it. Should be here tomorrow. I've spent the last 7 days thinking it would be here today. It wasn't until I checked the tracking this morning, that I realized today was the 2nd, not the 3rd.

:slap

Hopefully you'll still like it after you get him all geared up and on the shelf.

I didn't have that feeling when I opened the box. Thought he was great from the get go and after I put him on the shelf I just couldn't believe I almost passed on this one.

I think the HT jacket is nice but a SovStu upgrade is better. Also got a more accurate gun belt and holster coming.

It's funny, but I don't recall ever agonizing (yes, I'm using the term loosely :lol) this much over assembling a figure.

When looking at my repainted SS and the stock HT Indy the pros and cons of each just about balance out. SS is too big and a bit softer/young looking... but I have no problem seeing Ford. HT is too small, but very detailed and well done, but I only see Ford at times.

In the end it came down to how each head looked on the figure I cobbled together and I ultimately decided to go with the repainted head.

My current recipe is:
HT Indy: shoes, socks, pants, shirt, belts, holster, whip, shoulder bag, guns and hands.
SS Indy: Head (repainted), loose hat, idol
HT Saizo: Body
Sovereign Studios: Jacket

Have to say I'm really happy with the final product... and I'll likely part out the rest of the HT Indy so I may break even on the upgrades.

You guys see Capt jack? I just doent get how they coulda hit a bullesye with Capt jack and Supes but be slightly off with Indy!:monkey2

I will go to my grave believing that SOMEONE in the LFL licensing department LOVES the old Arnie Kim sculpt and wouldn't approve the figure unless HT used that one.

Looks good!

Did you ever take a pic of your HT Indy head? Did I miss your pics of the HT fig?

Nah, I didn't see much point since the thread is already full of them :lol If I didn't have the Sideshow one sitting in front of me I probably would have left well enough alone, but something about the HT head just doesn't sit right with me.

Did you "choose" the SSC fedora, or had to use it because it's glued on? I love the SSC brim shape but hate the height on it. The HT brim just looks okay (like generic cowboy hat brim) but the height looks perfect.:gah:

Funny you mention the small head on HT - someone had the SSC loose fedora on the HT head and looked one size too big. So SSC's head is too big and HT's is too small? :gah:

Yep, I feel the HT head is too small and the SS is too big. If I didn't have the Sov jacket I would have probably kept the HT head, but the Sideshow head and Sov Jacket looked best to my eye.

And yeah I just used the hatted head, but I plan on keeping the extra one (what I meant by the loose hat) that came with the Sideshow figure just for the heck of it. The rest of the pieces from Sideshow and HT will likely get sold on eBay to try and recoup some of my investment.

Always one of the best pics for ref on futzing the outfit for Raiders...

Shows what the holster should look like, and the tight wrap of the whip. If I go with a static pose, this would be it.
