I just don't think I could get $2K enjoyment out of a piece like this... its great, but it would be hard not to think of the 10 HT figures I could get instead, or even 3 months worth of groceries :lol

$2000?

It's a great piece, and at $1,000 I would of thought about getting Obi-Wan and then wait for Darth Vader. But, since it's going to cost about $4,000 or better for the two of them (I'm sure Vader could cost even more), I'm out.

As far as the comment said about these looking like midgets. I remember seeing the 1:2 scale Iron Man and it was very big, it kind of reminded me of a lawn ornament. It was a great piece, but the size doesn't remind me so much of a collectible anymore.

Since the previous IM 1:2 was $2K USD, I always expected this was going to be around the same. In many ways i'm almost happy it's $2K, since if it was $1K, I would have just been so much more tempted and I really don't have the space and should put the money towards something I don't have (since I already own the PF).

Its great news especially for me wich has collected 1:1 statues and busts for a long time.....As my museum is full I consider seriously to switch to this new line and sell out all 1:1 busts and statues and go all over to LSF and PFs !!!!!

The price for a LSF schould be in my opinion aprox 3 times the PF price PF=300-400$ so the LSF schould cost in my opinion 900-1200$ - this would make me decision and start collecting LSF wich will me more apropiate for my collection

Lets hear from sideshow what the prices will be...?
I´ll be ready for them

My LSF Wich list :

Indiana Jones ROTLA (with brown leather jacket)
Robocop (with gun in leg)
Predator 1 (with led in arm etc)
Terminator 2 (arnold / endoskeleton 50/50 with led)
Darth Vader (with led in chest etc)

I hope its between 900 and 1300 $ - lets se.........

this is the best statue from Sideshow to this date (because of the new skin resin) in my opinion :exactly:

It's actually a great tactical plan here by SSC with bringing Obi-Wan out first.. You would think Vader would be the obvious chioce, but by doing Obi first, you sort of almost gaurantee a team sale from the die hard classic SW fans (like me). If you did Vader first, a lot of collectors might pass on Obi.. although I love the portrait done by Matt Falls... he has a knack for obi... just my thoughts... Bring a strong showing to the game and then bring out the heavey hitters once the line up is in full swing! I feel like the sculptur,e pose, and cut and sew, they are just wonderful, not to mention the paint apps and light saber. SSC will have to push the factory to be on their "A" game! I know I'll never have the entire LSF line, but maybe atleast 2 ...:)

Yeah, pretty smart choice.

Amazing likeness. Any chance the production paint will look that good? Man I hope so.

Awesome paint job by SilentSurfer!

I agree. Sideshow's number one enemy is their now (amateurish) looking paint apps.......why hire SilentSurfer to paint a proto if the final version will not be close?

Thanks guys! He was a challenge to paint, but after doing the same paint technique on 1/6 heads so many times, it actually felt like it was painting itself at times. The real magic is in the quality of that gorgeous sculpt and the material they masterfully mixed to cast it in. The Sideshow team did an amazing job getting this figure ready for paint.

And for those of you who doubt that China can copy what I've done, let me drop this on you. The head at SDCC is mine, but the hands are actually China's work based on what I did, and I didn't even know when I was setting this piece up until I realized that the saber was wired for lighting and actually worked. The piece I painted wasn't. I'm pretty impressed with Sideshow's factories in recreating all paint so far, and its to Sideshow's great credit for all the trips their team members take over there to make sure they can keep up.

Making it hard to resist SS. Look for a guy in a scruffy looking nerf herder shirt tomorrow drooling over your amazing craftsmanship.

That will be me. :panic:

Reading through this thread, I got the impression the price had been announced. Aside from that, I have no idea.
