Hehe I'm not seeing what you're seeing, but we all have different ways in which we see Bruce which just makes him so much more interesting to collect. As long as everyone who gets this set is happy with displaying 1 of the sculpts it's great for collector's, I hope we can lay to rest the 'which company is better' hoopla and just enjoy these figures for awhile :D

:peace

Honestly as our collections show we dont prefer companies as long as the product is great... what I mean is that unlike HT which there is a reference, if you put the EB head you really wont get an exact likeness of reference from any scene of the movie... but that doesnt take away that the smile and likeness is Bruce's, however I dont want Bruce to smile in his GoD suit... I want him to glare like he did in EtD during the 'Mr. Lee why you wear no uniform' scene...

Funny thing I noticed is that EB Bruce Lee's are NOT as photogenic as HT Bruce's... rather EB Bruce's arent photogenic like any HT releases... its a shame that the awesomeness inhand cannot translate to pics... would have got them a lot more customers... My customised BD head is the BEST Bruce likeness I have (tied with HT smiley) and its SO GOOD in hand!

how the pait came off in the neck???you do somethink???

Not the paint, the skin.. the skin was already loose out there, the neck suffers a lot as the edges of the heads constantly rub against it... HT Bruce's had some soft velvet lining to cushion that... however most of the skin colour comes from that skin technology... so if the skin peels off the underlying rubber is just white... and the skin was limping loose in the box when I got my GoD set... I just cut of the already peeled part...

Great post Axe :hi5:

Wrt to the 'point of reference' you mentioned when I see the smiling sculpt I always think of Bruce as pictured below in the film, so I don't mind having that sculpt displayed in the GOD suit :D

I know its supposed to reference that scene but no matter how much a I tried I never got that shot... the cheeks and eye positioning isnt the same.. here's the pose of that I tried to replicate the day I unboxed and took pics for my Facebook review

This is why I said although it does reference scenes from the movie its taken some artistic liberties specially the position of the eyes is a dead giveaway. AGAIN NOT saying its a wrong sculpt, just saying it has some liberties from its reference

I understand what you're saying, like I said we see Bruce differently which is good :D

In the picture you posted, you could do some tweaks to try and get that pose more exact if you wanted I think. For example, the left arm in the film is almost behind him whereas in your pose you have it forward, which turns the entire torso of the body in another direction. This is most noticeable in the position of the right shoulder. I'm guessing the range of motion of the figure doesn't allow you to pull the arm back and high that far? Also, perhaps tilting his head down would help as well b/c in the film photo you can see how low his chin is whereas in your pic it's a good bit higher.

Your pic is great, not trying to knock it at all, just making observations and discussion :D

Well let me say that IMO the HT smiley IS better than the EB Smiley (Although they reference 2 different smiles) The HT IMO captures its moment better than EB does... honestly the EB smiley has taken some liberty with its reference, but that doesnt take away the fact that its a SOLID SCULPT!
Now that I think about it, didn't someone say the EB smiley was based more on a cocky smile & the HT smiley was more of a warm/friendly (or something like that) smile? I think changing the pose (HT or EB) of the figure, can change the attitude of the smile. Look at the BL donuts pic, posing him like that with the donuts gives a more friendly/relaxed vibe than a cocky one right? :D

As for you being the minority in which headsculpt being preferred? Well let me just say that the EB smiley is lying in its box and hasnt been taken out since the day I unboxed the figure, and you all know about my love fore the BD sculpt
Perhaps I'm not in the minority after all :dunno

Did you catch a paint bug? :lol Doing a custom paint job on a $300+ figure seems beyond my talent level at the moment, but you seem to be handling it well. Good job Axe :D

Yup that was me, I still go by it... but when I got the figure I saw that its eye was painted in a different direction. If I posed him in angle of the movie screen capture he would be looking downwards, I tried my best to fit in something with him looking up, but the articulation of the body wouldnt let me really put him in that screen pose, Or maybe because it was the day I got the figure I was too scared to force any joints incase it broke :lol

As for the paint bug... necessity is the mother of discovering hidden talent... I HAD to paint that nose to save myself the hassle... that translated into me repainting the BD suit to make it look better and the the parts of the body that were exposed and damaged/stained... its as addictive as collecting :D

:lol:lol:lol Kind of figured that, so don't go trying something crazy and snapping a limb!

This guy comes close but again the limitation in articulation cat really get that pose... also the eyes arent looking up... but no deal breaker for me... the smiling sculpt I wanted is already on display... I DONT want too many Bruce's smiling from their perch... people are not gonna take him too seriously then :gah:

Also I put my suited HT BL on the EB Directors Chair, looks better and much better proportioned to the oversized HT chair

:lol:lol:lol Kind of figured that, so don't go trying something crazy and snapping a limb!

I dont do Larry Errors :lol :wink1:
:nana:

But on the other hand snapping a limb would put Action Figure Repairman on the job again... I sincerely hope I dont need to call him out again... He already is on full alert whenever a NECA figure comes home...

Can that gif be made bigger? Might become my new Signature :wink1:

But honestly when you first put up that picture of the dislodged drumstick of the figure, I made a mental note : "No fiddling with the legs and keep everything to max 3 clicks" Talking about clicks the elbows can go 4 clicks! BUT the 4th one immideatly clicks back to the 3rd...

I found it like that. Maybe a comp wiz can make it bigger (might look too pixelated though) :D

At least my experience with the "dislodged drumstick" helped out in some way :D

Axe, damn you! you are making me want to paint my extra head.
I am an artist (well, I went to art college!), but I haven't painted models in years. What kind of paints did you use, acrylic?
Great work my man!

Also a couple of things I noticed when finally opening my regular version yesterday.. has anyone noticed their are two different pupil sizes in the eyes? My Beijing version has larger pupils than my regular version. The smaller pupils make it look a lot closer to the proto. It doesn't have that weird wide eyed look anymore. Looks a lot better IMO. My body was perfect, no marks on the arms or chest. No staining. One very minor paint rub on the nose, thats it. I'd swear the eye sockets are smaller, but thats probably my imagination.
