UGH :monkey4

Band wagon Jor fans.

I'm not one of them. I can assure you of that.

yea so? not for 25 years. The original line never saw him.

Well, I don't think this line is just based off the original line now is it?

Yup. Bet they have those Blackhole Stormtroopers too cause they are "cool"

I did. I like the concept and like some of the SW EU stuff. I'm not opposed to going outside the realm of whats only on screen. Within reason I will say.

Sideshow Collectibles' President and CEO Greg Anzalone. "Collectors can look forward to an incredible line from Sideshow - it's really a line created by fans for fans - very detailed and utilizing the best modern production techniques, and heavily inspired by the classic Real American Hero era designs

Ok so its going to be heavily inspired by the classic line. There's nothing there that says thats the only impact this line will get any figures from. We also forget this particular figure is a Con Ex and not really a part of the core set of figures.

Why cant non Joe fans understand why this annoys us so damn much?

Would Star Wars fans have been happy with a red Vader?

A Con Ex that is not a normal set figure in the line annoys you guys? Again, Con Ex (be it easy to get with SS or not) are not really part of the normal line in the same way Storm Shadow is. Thats why if you look at most of the SDCC Ex they're items that are variants of normal items already put out.

Who are these non Joe fans?

They could always make the special Holiday edition of Vader that was a SWS Ex a few years back. :lol If it was done as a SDCC or Celebration Ex. I could give a damn less honestly.

The only thing missed, was you missing the boat on the context of the posts. Once again, you're railroading people into a narrow perception of black & white. ;)

Not really. Its been pretty clear that a decent portion of folks are pissed cause in the classic line he was never red and that therefore this figure is no good because of that.

Go back to the Star Wars section :wave

Lets see, Stormtrooper Han and Luke are just as they appeared in AHH. So why not a Cobra Commander as he appeared in the original classic toy line?

Blackhole Stormtrooper Han and Luke would be comparable to Cherry Cobra Commander.

Those aren't $120 Sideshow versions. Big difference.

I don't see how the white and red Vaders defend this piece at all? They suck to.

At the very least the White Vader actually appeared in a comic book. So white Vader > red CC

They are variants though of the normal ANH Han and Luke. I think thats what SS is doing there with those two sets of figures.

I would have been ok with classic cobra commander but I think that figure is better set to do in the regular line at somepoint. Doing Classic CC as a SDCC item could potentially piss off more folks.

Another thing is ST Han/Luke are just new head sculpts on ST bodies. There is a decent difference between the CC we already have and the classic. Enough, I would guess they might not want to do it as a Con Ex. Hasbro may have some say in the matter as well.

So how do you get from A, them disappointed with the color, to B, the figure being no good? :huh That's what I mean by railroading people's comments into a narrow perception of black & white. From what I've seen, most have been saying the figure's a good figure, it's just not Cobra Commander. As a matter of fact, I remember saying that very thing when the pic of him walking down the stairs was posted, and my post having several ":lecture" posts after it.
