That's definitely a legitimate point. Damage control is one thing, blatant deception is another. I couldn't criticize anyone for wanting to speak with their wallets if they don't like the way Asmus does business. But at the end of the day, we all balance that with the perceived value of the product. SSC really pissed me off once when a customer service rep claimed that blatant QC issues were what you had to expect from a "hand crafted" Hot Toys figure, for example. I about had it with them at that point :lol

I honestly don't care that the base isn't accurate to the movie. It's a bunch of wooden boards. 99% of the people that see my collection won't even know who this character is, let alone that the background is inaccurate. It's not like they changed that from the prototype anyway and it's a hell of a lot better than what I could put together and cheaper as far as my time/money goes, so that's a plus for me. I'm not the type to spend $300 on more accurate shoes for my Joker figure. Those types of details don't bother me, and honestly the stuff with the top of chainsaw doesn't either. Did I know before reading this thread there were 2 different chainsaws used? Nope.
Well, yeah, that was kind of my point. The average collector doesnt care as long as it "looks cool" or "goes well" They're generally in the habit of settling for what they get anyway.

I'm just thankful this wasn't made by Star Ace..... I'm yet to see a company produce as much trash as they do especially for the price. 😂🔥

Reality is we got the prototype with a stupid chainsaw gimmick.

I really hope they learn from this. By them being careless with pictures and communication that's effectively what caused this.

Had herietta and name been right would we have received this better?

I actually think this is one of their best pieces if not the best the base is awesome!

Star Ace is horrible. Worse than Asmus, but I do have one figure by them and it's the Year 1 Harry Potter which I actually do like. Their quality just kept going down from there.

As for Asmus, I still think their Crown Gandalf is still their best figure out of the two.

I do really like the thought put into Ashs luxury set with all the extras and the diorama bases. If more companies would do that it would be great.

Touche, Monty.
The idea is to stop them from being shady.
Also fix the designing+production stage, quality control and customer service.

After 110+ pages of posts of varying intensity, I wonder . . .

Does it really matter anymore or is it basically screw it? I'm not buying it and screw all and the high horse they rode in on whether they buy it or not?

The key point in that is those fixing it are customizers where as the average collector is not a customizer.

Not that it is, but it almost like if you're not a customizer then it sucks to be you.

No one said it, but it comes off that way to a degree.

I admire the customizers because they acquired the experience and skills to fix it themselves.
That's not the point I'm making at all , this figure is ending up like a kitbash where everything has to be modded. Repainted headsculpt, new body , new clothing, custom harness . In the end it's virtually a completely new figure. That's not what you should be thinking of needing to do for a licenced figure out of the box .

If asmus still being shady after this debacle, then screw it.
If this, all this means nothing to them in terms of changing their conduct, then it's hopeless.
I personally stopped buying their product after arwen, but if they change their ways, and be an honest n respectable company, I will not be hesitant to support them again.

first decent video review ive seen on this and overall....this looks pretty decent. I'm starting to regret I let the negativity here influence my decision to cancel. Lesson learned for me on the undue power of social media.

Sorry to say it but this is a poor review by Andy , usually his reviews are good. But this doesn't even mention any of the glaring problems with this figure, he glossed over them completely 😪

Not arguing or disagreeing with you, but it's difficult to press that perspective to the customizers.

I know Andrew from a couple of other groups.

I was surprised by his video review and to me it comes across as forgiving and placating, but that is my opinion no more no less.

This review actually made me even more happy that I've cancelled and saved myself $350. If you ordered from Asmus directly, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to reinstate your order, as they've already stated that their finance team are busy working on all the cancellations, so I'm sure they have enough to spare.

The real issue is and it's probably happened to all of us at some point. People want to make themselves feel good about a purchase and justify spending the money on it so they make themselves believe that it's good or great or amazing despite the overwhelming opposite opinions. They will post photos of the figure looking for support and validation that they were right in making that purchase and only accept the opinions of people who agree 🤣

Same here , I know Andy and like you I was very surprised. You would think that he was describing a completely different figure he even said that the neck connector fir the deadite head is fine and that the person who posted photos hadn't put it on correctly and pushed it down enough but I know 100% that isn't the case . I could easily list at least 20 different things that make this figure a big FAIL but of course that will upset the people who have it in hand and you can't have an opinion if you don't have it in hand lol

Well Asmus had better hurry up and process my refund or they are going straight to monopoly jail 🤣

Regarding the above, you won't find the word "review" on the video. I am trying a more instructional take and impressions out of the box going forward. You will also notice that on my recent Wonderwoman and also my next video that has already been filmed. I am just trying something very different with the format to try and get some joy out of the video side of things. I do understand if it isnt some people's cup of tea.

Are there flaws on this figure? Yup, I talk about the lack of the scar/scratch that was changed, Linda's hair (which I am 99% sure they used the stop motion model as reference in error) I talk about the neck needing adjustment, etc. There are some issues that I saw on the groups that I could not see at all on my figure so I can only go on what is in front of me. I also mention about mine having new stickers on the box and the base. Overall it's something I am glad I have and when the cabinets are up will be on full display (I hate having building work done). I do like it more than the SS version in the face. For me, it's kind of like the comic / videogame ash, but I 100% get people who may feel it's not a photo-realistic version. Just wanted to be super clear on the format thing.

Cheers

Andy

The neck connector does fit fine. The hole is very deep and if you don't insert the ball all the way in it sits high. One person doesn't know how to seat a ball joint and all of a sudden it's a fail and everyone (who doesn'thave it in hand) looses their mind?
When inserted all the way in it sits just like the standard head, that's a fact.
