I had a pre-order for this and also got the email that it won't be available for like 6 months. Based on similar situations with other figures, do they always come through? Has there even been a time when they ended up not delivering?

They're not going to cancel the figure. It's just a delay.

Im pretty sure that they have never cancelled a figure thats been put up for preorder. Especially when its a straight up rerelease for some easy cash, your order will be fulfilled eventually.

A 6 month delay is nothing compared to some other figures out there.

I preordered him from Toys Wonderland so hopefully I won't have to wait the full six months plus.

Trying to decide if on vader to get between this and SS. Does anyone have the SS Vader with the newer helmet? Any recommendations between the 2?

If there's a HT version of a figure, always go for that.

I have never been very impressed with SS Vaders. I still have their deluxe. I would get this or wait for the inevitable ROTJ.

Isn't that just a re-release of the old SSC Deluxe Vader?

they improved the dome on the SS vader. It is different from both he old deluxe and the later ROTJ version. The face mask is the same though as well as the rest of the figure.

The dome and the suit are a lot better than the original deluxe release. I changed the suit and it fixed the skinny arms the figure had. Never upgraded the dome as the Hot toys came out. Still a solid figure except for the huge clown feet.

I liked the pleather on my old ANH (first version) Vader more than on the HT, I bet it will last longer too. SSC pleather seems to be better quality than HT pleather.

Yep I like the original sideshow Vader suit better too. I bought an extra one for the deluxe vader and it really helped the figure. Much better than the licorice like suit.

In the future I'll buy a real leather suit for the 1/4 HT Vader, and after that I might buy real leather suits for ANH and ESB Vaders too

Nice. I ordered the 2nd batch of this from Toy Buying Agent. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for it to become available and ship.
