It does have a bit of a Stephen Baldwin look from the front but yeah the paint looks incredible. That 3/4 shot is starting to get a nice HF look though.

How does that head compare in size to the SSC stock TOD head? The stock SSC head (which is otherwise quite nice) always seems maybe 10% too small to me.

And yeah, the skin tone on the SSC Indy seems a little dark to me - or maybe not dark, but the color a bit off or something. SSC has struggled for years with skin tone. Their Luke and Han Hoth have an oddly dark or off skin tone.

:lol I really hope I don't start seeing Stephen Baldwin in the sculpt. Here are some quick side by sides. Definitely a bit bigger, longer at least, though maybe not any wider.

I'm having trouble seeing Harrison Ford in that ToD Jnix sculpt myself. Not sure if its the eyes or the pouty mouth.

Maybe in hand it reads better. Some sculpts are finicky like that, or in reverse. I have bbkills Connery Bond and in photos it looks great but in hand it looks like some wannabe Russian dude.

Does anyone here communicate with Inigo? I used to when he was here but I'm not on FB or IG. Maybe someone can express the new interest in Temple of Doom over here and that it might be a good time for an authentic, sculpted from the ground up Indy from ToD?

But he has a fedora! And the bloody scratches! :lol

EmeraldKnight is always his point man on these runs but I don't see him on here or the custom site all that often anymore.

TonTon - is it possible for you to line up all your Indy heads for a comparison?

It looks like you may have to most complete set of available heads.

For me, and I haven't had a lot of Indy variants in my hands, but I've always felt MJ Choi really hit the mark (despite his personal oversized scale). The reduced version of his sculpt with the Inigo hat is the best Indy head I have seen yet. Again, my humble opinion... and that's not saying the other heads are not good.

I don’t see much Harrison either. I mean the paint and all is incredible but I never could dig the likeness on this sculpt.
Sorry Ton. I will however but it if you don’t want it anymore lol60EA4F44-6420-453F-BEE0-773D81BB065F.jpeg

Outside the Jnix I've tried to get ahold of most of the licensed sculpts to compare. I'll try to like them up at some point.

Don't have the Choi or any of the Inigo sculpts (have the v3 on order). The original Choi has maybe the most Ford in it, to me, but then also seems to border on caricature at times, the small hat probably contributed to that but also maybe something with the nose and ears.

I would say all that was largely solved by the resized sculpt but it somehow lost a tiny bit of the Ford the original had, still a healthy amount but if it was 85% before maybe it dropped to 80% or whatever. Worthy trade off for sure though.

The Inigo ones have always seemed excellent but a bit off, though not in a way that I can put into words. I have his Deckard and aside from the slightly narrowness it's got a ton of Ford in it and a good expression, and I know that was adapted from his v2 Indy O believe.

In the end I'm partial to my Jnix sculpt that Nathan painted, could be a case of "love the one you have" but I do feel it's really strong from certain angles.

I have the impression that Jnix was influenced by the Choi when he adapted his Han to an Indy sculpt as the nose was thinned out and elongated and the ears seemed more prominent than the Deckard he had just done before. I'm not sure those helped with the Ford likeness though. Sometimes I get a bit of a mousy vibe from his Indy sculpt at certain angles.

No more Baldwin pics. Please! :rotfl

I would concur with this overall assessment.

I've also never had an Inigo Indy (v1,v2 or smiling) in my hands. I would be curious to see one up close.

If you have never seen a modified MJ in hand, I highly recommend that you get one when the opportunity presents itself.

Has Balloon Man ever sculpted Indy? I would be very curious to see his take.

I could have sworn that you showed your Indy a couple years back with an Inigo Indy. Must have imagined it.

+1 on the idea of a new sculptor taking a crack, have a chance to do something really different. How are his prices? His Nicholson Wolf is pretty incredible. That might be his best Jack.

Nope, never had any Inigo Indy piece except for the hat. v3 intrigues me though.

I think Balloon Mans prices are quite high, but then look at the work he delivers. His Cuckoo's Nest Nicholson is amazing too. He really nails Jack. One thing Balloon Man does is add some real character to his sculpts -- opened mouths, squinted eyes, all kinds of things that bring his sculpts to life. Energy and action.

I think there's plenty of Ford in the Jnix sculpt myself, but the long skinny nose definitely hurt it a bit. I tried to shorten and widen mine back to how his Han sculpt looked (since I had it for direct comparison).

I would definitely be curious to see a TOD Indy from him though, as Ford's face had a more angular and less rounded look to it in that movie.

That looks better. I'll probably be content with just having the ANH Han and hatted Indy as my two Jnix Ford sculpts.

I have the no-hat Indy too, but not sure how often I would display him like that and I don't really want an army of that same Jnix Ford face on my shelf. Was happy to pick up the Inigo Deckard to mix it up a bit.

So I assume everyone has heard the news? I know Spielberg was basically just phoning it in for the last movie, but I'm not sure I can see Mangold's style fitting an Indy movie either...

Did not. Way to ruin my night, davejames. :gah:

Honestly, after KOTCS it's a situation now where if it's bad it should have been Spielberg and if it's good then it's a wash/they made the right decision.

I'd rather go down with the captain, but as long as Ford is there I'll be along for the ride.
