Supposedly sideshow May be negotiating with LFL for SW. That make sense they weren’t at Celebration. Hope to see this but we’ll see.

SDCC should be pretty telling in terms of what Sideshow's future will be regarding Star Wars figures.

Almost a full year since first revealed with no preorder in the horizon.....nice!!! In my younger days I thought what was revealed at SDCC was products that would be in our hand that calendar year. As a adult I know what you see is not what you get!!

I’m still waiting for a Poe Dameron Hot Toys pre order lol and the Padme reveal. Poe was shown in 2017 -_-

They should, but when it comes to HT they nearly always go for the big sellers. (Probably also the reason they can keep the quality up - they sell more and can spend more.)
Pretty sure we’re going to wait years and years for a HT version of this.
This is why we’ll miss SSC in the 1/6 game. Not so much for their quality, but they have always dared producing figures that are not big sellers. Aliens and background characters. Those have always been my favorite designs and I’m afraid that we won’t see any or very few of those produced by HT.

When this was announced, I figured I’d wait for the ht version. Now that ht has slowed sw down considerably, this may be the only lando we get for a long time. I never thought I’d say this, hurry up ssc.

That shouldn't have made the classic stuff any less popular, but sadly both SS and HT have reined it in.

Marvel is the hot brand.

I am gutted as I really desperately want figures of Lando Skiff, Leia Boushh, Admiral Ackbar and General Veers.

With the prices we have today, and sideshow not in the game, I doubt we’re gonna see those within a foreseeable future. Maybe Veers and Leia within a few years. But we aren’t enough people buying $200-$300 figures of side characters to justify the production costs I’m afraid. And if HT books the factory to produce Ackbar they are pushing a Marvel figure that would make them a lot more money. Sadly.

Agree with the 100%. Disney made a major miscalculation with the sequels. They wanted to grow a new fan base and make new stars. They never accounted for the fact that kids don’t really play with action figures anymore. The fans they alienated are the ones who buy $250 dolls. I have many friends who have stopped collecting since tfa.

It’s funny. Maybe, just maybe they are thinking a little further ahead. If you wanna build a franchise for the future it might not be very smart to build it up on a 40+ audience and cast only old actors for the leads.
And you can’t really claim that the sequels haven’t been a major success when it comes to ticket sales.
Yes, it’s clear that action figures aren’t what they used to be and that kids don’t buy $250 dolls, but hey, I think they know that and therefor I don’t think that the sales of Hot Toys is Disney’s prime headache.

Who would have thought there would be a day that a freaking Spiderman (i still Tobey Spidey btw) overshadowed STARWARS.

I think the marvel figures look great, but I couldn’t imagine collecting them. It would be an insane amount of $$ and space.
