I’m sure that enough of us would’ve wanted to order it to justify a basic run of maybe 250 or 500. Anyways, you have created, and are creating, the definitive TOS bridge crew, would be a shame not to put them on the bridge [emoji1303]

Thanks again for your passion, talent and commitment to Trek

250-500 will cost your hundreds. It has to go over 1500 in order to be producable at a reasonable price. Maybe just the helm/Nav console.

Yeah I guess it probably is better for the line to keep pumping figures out on a consistent basis so the production and distribution side can become stronger and more reliable. And plus it helps keep the buzz and excitement in the air, which makes more people want to buy them.

If the alternative is the incredibly long delays we're seeing with Bond and Doctor Who figures, then I definitely prefer it this way! :D

most failed 1/6 companies relied on 3rd party companies to be the middleman.

Middleman quoted a price before production, in order to make more money or to cover some unfortunate issues during production, they cut cost = quality.

Then a ripple effect begins and collapses the entire operation with huge financial lost.

Thanks to QMx, Nanjin, and the entire awesome team (and FacePool, Joy and Tom Studios, etc.)....

Yeah the chair and helm console are the only ones I'd really need, and then I could have all the characters gathered around that, like in one of those cast photos they did. I doubt very many of us would have room or money for an entire bridge.

I think Space....is always the final frontier

Hey Nanjin, I'm definitely down with the helm and sure hope it happens one day. A full 1/6 bridge set would be a dream come true, so if you make it put me on the list :)
If the production model works out as I planned, it is possible to include plastic builds. I didnt have this model in mind when the Captain's Chairs were produced, so I didnt pay attention to any possibilities.

Is more like “Custom Builds” operation when the quantities is under Thousands. Full service factories wont even look at the order, only small prototyping companies will do this but it will be the cost of prototypes.

When I move on to paintup operation, i will look into this. Maybe sometime next year.

I have spent this rainy Saturday afternoon in my garage watching TOS and filling my 3D printed helm. I printed at a very low layer height and while it would have been passable for some to paint it and go, for the best detail I am using woodfill to finish it. It took a good 48 hours to print this. 3D printing will never take over blow molding. I look forward to replacing it with a production helm someday, but I feel to do it right that helm might cost consumers a good $250 with electronics but it is something I will buy

There are a few issues in 1/6 trek that no one seems to understand. This is understandable because people only pay attention on what they personally concern.

They major surviving key to 1/6 Production leverage. Only a consistent production line can survive in the current 1/6 production.

There are also tons of battles going on between companies in the production world that you guys can not see.

Most companies are in a losing ground in this respect. Beside HT, who released the most figures in 2018? Even bootleg companies are having trouble except “Txysxxa”

1/6 trek also experiencing this issue, I am at the front end in this “edge out” era. If Trek cant release and produced in a timely manner, I think Trek will be just like the Who figures, end up moving backward in time... SS scaling back in production and major in distribution... SA goes into 1/8, Medicom forgo 1/6 and went into 6 inches....

This is the most frustrating part of my job. As of today, no one on Earth except the production people knows what I have to do to get 1/6 trek moving. All I hear is “I know, I know.” Well, there is no such thing as “I know” if you never had real life experienced with it. What's happening now with Scotty, Sulu, and Uhura are the beginning of a strong 1/6 production foundation that no one in 1/6 had ever built.

Compare, a 3 years old 9 figures company to other companies, I am doing something that no one was doing before Trek. (Trek always lead the way [emoji16])

So, please bare with the troubles that come with Scotty, Sulu, and Uhura. We must go through this stage in order to be able to continue Trek.

Most 1/6 companies failed because they never believe “Securing Production” is a major part of their business model. Securing Production was my prime objective for the past 3 years.

I fought really hard for this operation model even taking the risk of giving up 1/6 trek.

Please help intriduce 1/6 Trek to other Trek friends. I want to go as deep as I can till the last second or my last breathe. Trek NEEDS the fans and friends support. You guys are the heros [emoji120]

Please keep the figures coming Nanjin...one a month or one a week! I can understand some collectors not wanting to feel overwhelmed but this is a good problem to have versus the alternative of no Trek figures! Hopefully Scotty's sales are showing QMX that if you make them we will buy them! Look at how many Khan's sold in the past 24 hours just to people on this thread alone!

You have to share pictures of your work!

A helm/nav console may carry a price tag about USD200 with post purchase assembly. I learnt most if not all of 3”0”'s production approaches.

$200 for the helm/navigation is very reasonable. Each station made separate to be added as needed would be great. Of course, I would be in for the full set.

I think I had proven myself in the past 10 years that I will keep this 1/6 trek going in anyway I can without degrading the qualities but to seize every opportunity to improve even after everyone believe the prototypes were good.

Just remember there will be some glitches in the next 3 months.

Beside Spock's station, everyone else is the same, just the display graphics and some button color are different. Technically, just making one station with option parts (opps, forgot the tube door and the view screen).

It might be nice to gather links to other Trek related items, such as the Shapeways chair I mentioned earler. There are a number of Trek items on Shapeway, not sure what's on other 3D printing sites? Or maybe a separate thread? Just thinkin'

There are plenty of good 3D files out there.
