Forum hacked again

I've seen him logged in fairly recently. From some of his postings though I don't think he even likes his own forum anymore so I'm not sure how much he cares about this happening.

If that is true maybe he should sell the forum. It has happened to other boards before. Or at east give some full admin powers to a few trusted admins here, to be able to clean up the place. With more and more Facebook groups, people are leaving forums already. Look at Rebelscum, which was HUGE, it is just a shadow of what it was. The Rebelscum autograph section has moved 99% on Facebook.

I'm not a fan of Facebook, but we have to admit that the trend is there, no matter what. This is why this forum and others need to try more in keeping their members

I like this forum as well, that is why I'm here since 2008 and on Rebelscum since 2001. And you can be almost anonymous on FB too, my account has all the security to the max, I never post on my wall, don't let others do it, I use FB Purity, use a nick instead of my name etc. Though anonymity is very relative these days the moment you connect on internet. The thing is that if forums want to stop people going to FB more and more, they need to find ways to keep them, and one of these ways is security too.

And back on topic, I'd really like to see no more of these things:

Yeah because the spammer got pissed when DS and BM started deleting him, but now that DD isn’t monitoring it, the spammer wants revenge by corrupting this forum everyday . This guy has gotten blocked before but then he disappears for a while.

The fact that this spammer is aggressively plaguing the forum consistently every day now, means they are sending a message

Amen. FB is the laziest most devious site out there right now. I cant believe people voluntary use it.

Its a huge data collection bank that people just give info to. Someday soon all those folks are gonna wonder how they have such compete online profiles that are being bought and sold for big bucks.....

Makes you wonder doesn't it. I was a private investigator back before the internet, and with just a couple phone calls and a fax machine, the amount of data that I could gather from government agencies about ANYONE was mind-boggling and scary. Sites like FB, where morons are willingly giving that information to what's supposed to be a private entity (but which is clearly working for one specific political party in this country), and seems to have an apparent agenda.... well, just goes to show humans really are the dumbest species on the planet.

I'm sure other vbulletin (DragonByte?) forums have dealt with this type of thing. There's probably a best practice solution out there to jettison this/these knuckleheads.

The forum has been attacked by spam threads like this before but it was promptly dealt with.
I have yet to hear back from either Dave or Adoptedscot. This is just weird.

The whole format is easier to use. You can't really have a conversation on facebook.
