Using warm water to loosen PERS sticks

I've seen someone suggest this on YouTube, for the dx01 Joker would it be ok for the dx12 Batman? I was wondering if it would damage the paint job. The instruction manual for the dx12 doesn't say anything against getting it wet or exposing it to moderate heat.

If he's not joking, it's pretty messed up of HT to not put some kind of warning about it in the instructions. I wouldn't soak a toy without a good reason anyway though, but the PERS stick is pretty stiff.
