So no Bond stuff?

Same here on the Casino Royale stuff, if its good I will gladly welcome Craig into my collection if its not...well the completist in my will give him a lukewarm reception.

I'll tell you the problem from my perspective, as someone who didn't start collecting until after these were out: it's extremely hard to find the good versions of the only James Bonds I want: Connery and Brosnan. I don't want the Thunderball Connery, I don't like the costume. The easier Brosnan to find isn't the costume I want either(boring jumpsuit). Not interested in Dalton, Moore, or Lazenby. Not interested in the villains they've done.

If Sideshow wants to kickstart this line again, I recommend:

-Grey suit Connery Bond.

-Regular suit Brosnan Bond.

-Shrug off the disappointments of the Brosnan-era Bond Girls. Jinx was well done, but Xenia Onatopp's head was too big for her body and Wai Ling was another of their rooted hair abortions, and ***** Galore - well she had the best name but she was far from my favorite Bond girl. Make Domino from Thunderball. Honey Rider from Dr No. Melina Havelock from For Your Eyes Only. Christmas Jones from The World is Not Enough. Miranda Frost from Die Another Day.

As part of that - make a new voluptuous body(the current ones aren't attractive) and make more, better Bond girls and sell them to Cy Girl collectors - there's got to be enough to sustain a line of 1000 figure editions, they just avoid Sideshow females because of the ugly body and out of proportion head. There'd certainly be a use for this new body type when SS makes Aayla Secura for Star Wars, and other lines.

Well, depending if you're a MIB collector or not there's always the alternative in re-dressing the duller Connery and Brosnan Bonds. Last time I looked, the Oldjoeinfirmary had a couple of Sideshow's Get Smart suits that could probably be dyed different colours. Or there's the tux from the Barbie Bond Ken (which, other than the bowtie, looks better quality than SSC's tuxedos)... and there's usually the Dragon grey suit knocking around at OJI or Monkey Depot.

Definitely Christmas Jones... long have I wanted a White She Devil doll ;) I'd happily settle for a Solitaire or, on a purely personal level, Goldeneye's Caroline Finch :naughty

A new body design wouldn't have to be voluptuous to appeal to the Cool Girl collectors/customisers (among whom I number myself)... well, not to all anyway! Just something with better proportions, more aesthetically pleasing and with improved articulation (especially in the hip area).

If you want a Christmas Jones figure, just go out into your backyard, grab a stick and dress it in fatigues. That will perfectly simulate the incredibly wooden Denise Richards.

And yet Sideshow are releasing an Arnie Terminator figure... surely the same argument applies (albeit using a suitably thicker branch)? ;)

I agree about they should make stuff people wanted - we've been begging for a Jet pack Bond for years, instead we get that rubbishy Goldeneye set, including Xenia, the worst figure ever. And everyone wants Bond in tux's - so why no white tux Connery or Moore? And why no Bond at all in a decent suit? (I don't count the safari suit from Golden Gun). Similarly everyone wanted a Red Grant figure, which should have been a shoo-in given the video game. Instead we had Wai Lin. I love the early figures - Dr No, Goldfinger, OHMSS, Brosnan DAD - but after that they blew it with the wrong choice of figures.

Tom from chat:

"we gave Bond a little bit of a vacation but he will definitely be coming back with the new movie"

"in a slightly different format"

"still 12" just a slightly different presentation"

"there are some obvious holes in the 1/4 scale Bond line that we intend to fill" :)

Yeah, but Ahnuld was intentionally acting like a robot.

I'm guessing that they will release a PF Moore next, before another 12 inch figure is made. I just hope that they release a decent character from Bond soon for the 1:6th line! Red Grant Dammit! Or at least a creepy as Hell Blofield (pleasance). Would be nice to have Bond in a white tux or with the jetpack. And at least ONE Bond in a regular suit. I just started collecting this line and I really have only bought one of each actor to play Bond... I have Dr No Connery, Live and Let Die Moore and Goldeneye Brosnan... I need to get Lazenby soon, been putting him off for a while...

I just want another good villain to fill in the gaps, so many good ones and not very many have been produced... I hope that they remedy this. I know I'd buy any of the ones listed above in a heartbeat!

But, please whatever they do.... I hope they wait a few months... too much to buy... my wallet hurts. :sick

And Auric Goldfinger for crying out loud. I mean we already have his valet. How can you not have the most well-known, well-loved villain in the Bond series?

Thanks for the additional info Unique Soul, I wonder what he meant by "slightly different presentation"...
