Actually cost is a factor. The point being that for most pieces I 'choose' to settle for the regular because I can't accept the 25-50% top up that is needed to purchase the Exclusive directly through Sideshow. If I lived in the USA, statue collecting would be easier on my limited finances. But yes being somewhat impatient has cost me quite a bit.

Or not. There have been pieces that went up in price or weren't that easily found in the secondhand market. Besides, I try to stay as far away from EvilBay as possible. Besides, I don't like buying second hand (statues, I love flea markets :p ).

I think certain exclusive piece's are worth getting from sideshow, but not many these day's. I understand that sideshow can give you a rough estimate once they know how big the package will be to ship. Thank god I did not order the exclusive Thanos on Throne. That would have made me cry like a ***** seeing the final shipping cost then tax's slapped on top.

Absolutelyyyyyy

We need a teaser pic! A darkened pic ...a peek of his helmet with one eye hole ...anything!

This wait is excruciating!

Whelp! Looks like I'll have to settle for the Reg version. If he's as big as I think he'll be, then the international shipping will be enormous. Add on the import tax and it's 50% more for whatever the EX is.

It sucks, but I won't swap it for Universal Healthcare :lol

Import tax 50% of the value?

Got to agree with you there. Still annoying though that we have to pay more for collectables. (I probably shouldn't talk politics...). Regarding universal systems many don't believe in any form of socialism as it's got a bad connotation in US society. Heck not may people in Australia know that the Labor party in Australia is actually a socialist democratic party.

Not exactly. I've mentioned before that for me to get the Exclusive from Sideshow direct in Australia it can cost anywhere from 25% to 55% more on top of what I pay for the regular locally from Popcultcha. Prime 1 pieces are usually 25-30 %, Hot Toys about 40%, and Sideshow can range from 35 to 55%. It's the customs, and high delivery charges, and of course our retailers such as Popcultcha get their pieces in in bulk and offer member discounts, preorder discounts and free shipping which all add up.

My buddy has an account with IKON who are the Popcultcha wholesalers so I save a bit more if I buy local.
So if I go Sideshow direct for a big piece like Bane, I'm paying considerably more than if I get the REG locally. By the time I pay full Sideshow price, convert it, add shipping (international cubing rules suck), plus the new GST....uggh.

Damn you're lucky, I usually refer to the Ikons website as they have MUCH better ETAs on pieces. But I do wish they listed the Prime 1 stock, because I was told they also bring that in for Popcultcha, but for whatever reason they don't show it on their site.

If you don't mind me asking, how well do you do with Ikons discount wise? At best I can get the 19% off Sideshow and Hot Toy items (Popcultcha's sticker pricing) and a few others but only the usual 10% for Prime 1 as they don't offer their preorder discount on them.

For example the Iron Man Mark 3 Maquette, the difference in the regular with an estimated $150 USD shipping (it'll probably be more) is about $400 AUD or 50% more than what I would pay from Popcultcha ($810 AUD) after my double 10% discount (19%).

And with a lot of the pieces I get nowadays the new threshold for GST doesn't really matter all that much to me, as most are over a $1000 AUD. But for those under a $1000 AUD, you have to remember the GST is not collected at customs (or by the couriers) but at the time of purchase! So Sideshow is meant to be registered with the ATO for GST and would have to collect and remit, and I have no idea how the Australian government is supposed to enforce this.

Wait until the EX is announced

This piece probably similar size to Bane. Bane reg was superb enough for me. This guy is def gonna be more expensive than Bane.

Juggernaut is like 9.5 foot tall, I'd expect this to be 28" if standing upright which will dwarf Bane in terms of height and mass
