Just got my Rogue One Stormtrooper. Wonderful figure. I rarely want multiples and I'm ready to purchase another as soon as a USA Amazon dealer gets them with Prime shipping.

All that does is make you appreciate how good the Mafex Boba's are lol.

While I totally agree that the MAFEX mold is superior to the Figuarts Jango, have you been able to achieve any super dynamic shooting poses? I find the shoulder armor super limiting, and the Wookie braids make it impossible to put his arm in a fully relaxed position. Also had a shoulder pad break off. Needed to super glue it back on. Maybe it's just mine? This was my first MAFEX figure and probably my last.

Yeah the Mafex Bobas look amazing, two of the best looking figures in my display. But they definitely don't do the dynamic poses as well as Figuarts makes it happen. I'm ok with it, since I don't plan on posing Boba too crazy. He mainly just stood around and looked cool anyway :rotfl

I agree mafex boba is not the most articulated, but he's solidly made and another key element of posing is how natural and realistic the figure is. Boba is tops for this in the way the arms and legs look. The sculpt naked the proportions and natural look of limbs and head. Only rival is the sh figuarts speeder scout. Feel lucky to have both these figures :)

I would say in terms of realism the new rogue one stormtrooper is now on top. From D amazings review (thanks for posting the link btw) its perfect in every way and looks like a mini version of the suit. Mafex Boba is still the best they have ever produced though, heres hoping the new Vader is just as good with zero QC issues as it may just top Boba.

Here's my sub par attempt at sculpting Luke's hand holding an inaccurate blaster, criticisms are always welcome.

Used a 1:18th Browning Automatic Rifle as the base for the blaster and its muzzle. Sculpted the grip of the blaster first then went on for the hand itself, the right hand is still detachable and a blast to make.

That looks good! I wonder if Maul hands might fit on Luke, I'll have to try sometime.

Thinking of selling some of my doubles - especially ROTJ Luke.. He's going for a pretty penny at the moment so I think I'll unload my extra.

Anyone here sold/purchased the TFA Riot Trooper recently? Trying to get a price idea - thanks!

Bandai Model Kit/Figuarts comparison pic. Obviously Figuarts wins in articulation and overall just feeling like an action figure, but mannnnnn. These model kits are LEGIT. Model kit wins for looking like a 1/12 Deathtrooper staring me down. Tried to match the coloring of the Figuarts as close as I could. I have 3 more to build :yess:

Thanks for the comparison pic matkron! I've been going back and forth but decided to stick with SHF because no way was I going to build 3 or more troopers.
But agreed the Bandai kit looks killer! Nice job!

Wow the Bandai is that much taller?!!!

Now the wait for the SHF DT Specialist....

Nice pic as well JonEl! Great line up!

I've been so on the fence with this model kit. Looks great! What did you use for paint? Airbrush or just spray cans? How difficult was it?

Got both my Rogue One Stormtroopers in yesterday. Love them! Huge improvement over the original.

Apart from the cartoon/ inaccurate headsculpt though right? None of Figuarts Star Wars figures have accurate helmets. I think it's intentional/ stylistic choice though, even just looking at their bodies you can tell they aren't going for absolute realistic proportions. It is weird though because I'd say their human characters have near spot on proportions.
