still doesnt look like the one from the show. how many chances do they need to perfect it?

The weird thing is that they had access to the real one for reference,. So what went wrong?

Looks worse than the previous one. It would help immensely if they could get the hair right, but it's not even close.

Just looks like a bigger version of the one already out. How hard can it be to make it look like the episode version? :monkey2 I'd get one in a heartbeat if it was screen-accurate. :monkey1

:lol Those are a couple of great pics! Still wish that wee little puppet man looked more like the show...

See, now I missed the first 3 and I am sad about that. Even if they didn't get it spot on. I always wanted to get them but they go for too much now. It's not that worth it to me. I have spikes, but seeing how he was never a puppet it doesn't really count. It's just cute. ;)

i saw this another forum. and was shocked at the photo. its awful.

rep_angel_puppet_full_L.jpg

this is probably the real thing, hence why they are taking measurements from it...
it wont look like it in the end...

look at this.
this is the original. look at the skin texture and tone. the thin eyebrows...

puppethead13vu8.jpg

and this, is their version. the texture is completely different, its lighter in tone and the eyebrows are like 4 times thicker.
theres something off about the face...i think its too wide, not long and narrow enough. and the texture and colour are really throwing it off

the eyes are too far apart. the face itself is too fat, and short, should be longer. the hair is different, should be more of a wool, rather than a fur...

Oh god,now you're comparing the images you can really see the difference!

willowswarlok where did you get that wonderful photo of them measuring the real puppet?

Looking at that I can see that the originals hair was created using the old Henson gag of threading feathers through it, to add a bit of movement into the proceedings.

I think I'll pass on this as I'm still quite happy with my wee hand puppets myself. :)

Good Lord, How many times do they need to get it right?!?! It STILL is way off! I actually have the first 2 and then stopped once they did a 3rd and a Spike. Hey, if it's a money grab, fine! I will GIVE you some if you just get it right! The first one looked like Abe Vigoda!

argh!

Any more sightings, pix, promos...?
Why can't they just do this correctly? I wonder what Joss thinks of these?

I saw this at SDCC and it took me a while to figure out what it was supposed to be. I saw that I was at the Diamond booth and figured it must be a 1:1 puppet Angel. But it didn't inspire me to buy it at all. I have the 1/2 size ones, but I'm less enamored of them every day.

yeah the angel 1:1 sucks hard and the other angels suck a little too but the spike was cool  I'm pretty happy with him...

I must've missed the part with the puppet Spike (?)

I had all three Angels but it also wore on me how bad all three came out. You could squish the head into almost the right shape, but it would just revert back to its completely wrong shape. I eventually sold them and haven't missed them. The Spike never tempted me even a little, and the 1:1 Angel is just atrocious. It's hard to believe Diamond had the actual prop to work off and they couldn't do any better than this.

But what's with the ridiculously oversized noses? This is like Walter Matthau playing Spike!
