The one thing I always hated was the white glue, that if it got
wet, the hair would start to come out. So doing it this way,
I never have to worry about it. You just have to get it right
and plan out how you place the hair and try the sections of hair
before you glue.

Also, adding brown or any other color is easy with the Mr. Hobby fine paint pens or markers.
I just wanted to get the base color down and then add darker brown at the roots
and hair line, then blend it into the green.
 
You'r right the hair is a great idea. Would like to see it after you darken it a bit. The dark red paint in the center of the scar makes it look like a fresh cut as opposed to an old scar with red makup. Just my thoughts
