You know what, though? MAG's approach fosters teamwork and strategy. The more I played the Beta, the more impressed I was with how the developers set things up to discourage Modern Warfare type gameplay.

You don't want to be running from spawn points? Work with your squad and make sure you have several medics with you to revive you on the spot. And working as a team can be awesome to behold -- on the 256 player matches especially, it was amazing as our team held off wave after wave of the enemy as they tried to storm our control room.

By the time the Beta ended, I knew I'd only just sampled the possibilities for coordinated battles, but it was great. If you think the Modern Warfare solo routine is the be all and end all, you won't like MAG. But if you're looking for more than boosting your K/D ratio, and battles that make more sense than combatants randomly colliding with each other on small maps, then MAG might be for you.

In case you can't tell, I'm buying the game.

Best thing to do is find a couple of friends to play and communicate with and then other people will follow suite.

I was going to pick this up but I just realized that ME2 comes out the same day so I will have to hold off on Mag for a bit.

As you start getting to higher levels, there's more motivation for people to work together. I think giving people 3x the experience points for reviving someone that killing an opponent is a great idea, and from there it just causes people to work together more closely.

The real game is supposed to have tutorials to get people working together from the start, too.

a lot of people will be saying this, as did i, thats a killer to games that rely on multiplayer only access, if eveyone is playing ME2, noone will be playing this...

I was going to get this game, but everyone tells me it isn't that good. Trying to get people online to play as a team is going to be tough.

That's because everyone wants to be Rambo while playing online. This happens all the time in Modern Warfare 2...Half the team will be running and gunning while the other half sits around camping.

I've seen a couple of really good teams run through the map together working as a squad and they freaking steam rolled the match.

I played BF1942 and BF2 for years so I am used to team games.

Is this game worth getting?

I might rent it.
