I hope they do a Smith after this. Neo looks great.

I guess Threezero have the official rights. This looks sick though.
Not sure where they are with that though. They said a while back that they have to go after each actors to get the rights to use their likeness. Never found out if they just gave up on that or if they're still trying.

Looks pretty damn good to me! All the guns are awesome, too. Here's to hoping they do a Smith, as well. He's one of my favorite villains of all time.

I think it looks pretty damn impressive. Accessories are fantastic and the headsculpt looks just like Keanu to me.

Honestly, I don't think Threezero would produce something better than this anyway.

That is actually true.

Some years ago, Triad Toys produced a "bootleg"/"unofficial" version of Neo as a custom limited run offering and named it Theodore DX. They produced two versions. Both were based on his long overcoat appearance in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. One version had a cloth outfit and the other had a leather/pleather style outfit with a pair of 1:6 sais and sunglasses. The production run of each version was apparently around 100 to 150 pieces based on what I remember at the time.

They listed the figure on eBay and they received a cease and desist letter and/or phone call from Warner Bros. Licensing. The ended up having to remove the figure from eBay and supposedly stop selling the figure.

Louie Tran (at the time owner of Triad Toys) inquired about obtaining the actual license for The Matrix to produce 1:6 figures from Warner Bros. He was told the license is available, but the license does not include the right to use Reeves, Moss, and Fishburne. Everyone else yes, but not those three actors/characters.

Obviously this isn't licensed, hopefully it does still make it to market because we'll probably be waiting for 5 years to see anything from Threezero, if they end up making any.

Whoops, another thread.

Just like Rambler, I'm curious about a possible price. Also, I gather this won't be sold at or through Sideshow but rather Monkey Depot? Perhaps through IT or Facebook?

As an unlicensed item, it won't be sold through Sideshow, who have a distribution relationship with ThreeZero.

Smaller type retailers like Monkey Depot will almost certainly have it though.

I remember the days when I get so excited upon seeing an Hot Toys prototype that I impulsively preorder it right away. That hasn't been happening lately with newer HT figures. But the ones from Star Ace, and now Iconic Toys, have really got me excited again. These newer companies are really upping their game. "The Saviour" is an instant PO for me. I'm not even a fan of the film it's based on. I just want this for the head sculpt alone. It looks even better close-up without the shades. My only nit is I think they could lighten the skin tone, perhaps less yellowy? Anyway, it's an awesome figure from head to toe. Now where can I PO this?

Couldn't have said it better :goodpost:

I am also very looking forward for more information on this, have got tired of the same old HT and the ever increasing HT prices, so the likes of this is very refreshing and makes me excited again!

I don't know why people are getting so down on HT these days. They continually to produce such high quality figures from the biggest franchises of today. I don't understand the mentality of people knocking something just because it's become popular or mainstream.

This is a great Matrix figure and I'll be looking to pick it up. As for the cost, it should be well below the price of HT because they haven't had to pay for licensing. That makes a huge difference.
