General manufacture question.

Hi, I'm new to collecting action figures, but I'm stunned about how many premium action figure manufactures there are! There's Neca, Medicom, Hot Toys, Sideshow Collectibles, and too many more to think of. The question is whats the real difference between all these companies? What's the difference from a Neca T-800 and a Hot Toys T-800 besides price? I'm the kind of person that likes to be universal, so I'd like to try and stay with one or maybe two companies. Hot Toys seems to make very high quality and authentic figures, I'd love to own lots of those! But $200+ dollars is a lot of money to spend on an action figure! If someone could please give me a general run down of all the respectable manufactures and what they bring to the table, that would be great! Thanks.

Go to any Hot Toys thread and look at pictures. There is no question where there are differences.
