The face is DONE! I thought I had spent two weeks on the face, but looking at the date of this thread I guess it probably was only one week- most definitely felt like two. I wanted to get it as good as I could possibly at my current skill level, and in that respect I am extremely pleased with it. When I started I figured this would be 'more of the same' as with my Aragorn, but I have made great improvements in many aspects, I hope that trends continues.

The face itself under there has been cured, and therefore solid. Of course I Immediately began piling on mock-up clay for a helm just to see how it would look :lol I actually can't wait to start on the helm proper, it should be loads of fun but I will try and cast the head first, as mentioned before. You can bet I'm wishing like hell I still had the Faramir helm for reference, but such is life. The eyes are just quick photoshops.

That's all for now!

LOTRF, OK, DK, and JB- thanks :toast

Re: Faramir head sculpt

WTF...
I thought it was David Wenham himself.

Chuck, you have to do copies and sell them... pretty please.

Re: Faramir head sculpt

i didn't think it could get any better than your Aragorn likeness....but this sculpt is PERFECT!!!!!!! everything is absolutely incredible! the eyes, nose, beard, EVERYTHING!!!! fantastic work! :bow :bow :bow

Re: Faramir head sculpt

Very nice Chuck! Great likeness to Faramir there... <img border=0 src="https://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/pimp.gif" />

I sabotaged my own attempt by using pictures of the actor without makeup on... so mine doesn't look like Faramir... stupid me.

It means.. he has stuck it in a pre-heated oven at Gas Mark 5...heating sculpey at this temp turns it solid.

He is now free to work on the helm/hair.. without destroying all the effort on the facial features in the process.

Shoot me if i'm wrong.

*loads gun*

aw shucks, ws is right :naughty

nemo: I'm not sure what you mean? He was wearing make-up, as in some sort of prosthetic? I myself used about 50/50 film and non-film photos for reference.

rev: i'll let you know if I do, cheers

Chuck, you have to make sure of a couple things:

1. That's it's definitely in 1/6th scale.

2. That you complete him entirely in a riding pose.

3. You pre-order the Aragorn on Brego so you can chisel off Aragorn and replace him with your Faramir! *

*add some armor to the horse and it's set!

Very impressive! If you will sell privately, put me on your list. I really miss not having a Faramir Bust. I know there could be some legal issues with New Line if you try to sell, but hey, to your friends it could be a gift! :bow

Some shots now that I've successfully casted the face(to use for an armored version) and have added the hair. The middle one again is just playing around with eye placement in photoshop, if I can match that somewhat when actually painting, I'll be very satisfied with it.
