EVILFACE
Super Freak
Looks more like a remake of Romeros The Crazies instead of Day of the Dead.

The Wizard of Oz (1939) - Movie trivia time ... it WAS a remake of an older film.
The Thing (1982)
Scarface (1983)
The Fly (1986)
Evil Dead 2 (1987) - Sorry, ignoring the minor changes to the story ... this was, is, and will forever be, a higher budget remake of Evil Dead 1.
Cape Fear (1991)
Meet Joe Black (1998)
The Thomas Crowne Affaire (1999)
Vanilla Sky (2001)
Lord of the Rings (2001) - okay, this one is cheating, but Peter Jackson's masterpieces were better than the cartoon version
Ocean's Eleven (2001) - I will take Pitt and Crew over the Rat Pack .. oh, blasphemy
The Ring (2002)
Solaris (2002)
The Italian Job (2003)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
King Kong (2005) - More heresy I know, but I prefer the new version .. even if Jack Black does annoy the hell out of me with his role.
The Longest Yard (2005)
Okay, I could keep going, but you probably stopped reading by now. But all of those remakes were at least as entertaining as their original (and some were better). So, being a remake, doesn't guarrantee a crappy movie ... it may drop the film off at Crap U ... but not every one attends classes

Why did they even bother calling it Day of the Dead? It looks like it has nothing to do with the original Day of the Dead. The plot is completely different. Where's the military bunker? For the record, almost, if not all, of the original DOTD's outside scenes were filmed during the day.
I disagree. That's just your opinion not fact.
Some of those movies were as entertaining as their originals but not all. Remember though, that's just my opinion. It's not a fact which is what you are basicly saying about your opinion.
The films you did mention at least kept the basic plot intact. This film shows no evidence that it relates to the original in any way.

Not meant as an evil jab... just stating the truth.
But this trailer DOES look pretty bad IMO... The movie could turn out to be much better in the end, but so far not so much. But as always I reserve full judgement until I see the finished film.
My only concern is the "fast zombie" trend that has swept over the horror industry. NOLD and it's brethren were excellent movies with loads of suspense and pacing that work IMO.... And Resident Evil (the original game) proved to me that slow bumbling zombies could make me jump. AND that they could still be horrifying....
It's reasons like this that make me want to devote my life to making scary movies, if only to save the genre from being sullied over and over again.
