These were just brought to my attention this week... good god they are BEAUTIFUL pieces... Joe Strain is a professional bullwhip maker and apparently he has produced some 1/4 scale whips... these would be a PERFECT addition to a PF statue... the price is $250.00 for one... but geesh I would love to add one of these to my Indy PF... here is a link to the whip photo :

Looks like he also does a 1/6 version.. but I believe they may be the same price as well...

Wow Mike, another GREAT find! A little out of my price range though! for $250, you could almost get a whole other Indy PF! :horror

yeah.. I have been wanting to learn this process of braiding leather into one of these.. just have not had the time...

site says theyre 20".
Accurate 1/4 scale would be 30" if I did my math correctly ... :monkey1

There's another one on there that is 30" long. Maybe the 20" is the 1/6 scale?

They're both great. Just wish I could afford one...

Great looking whip but darn expensive! My 8 footer from Joe was only $100 more than this seven or eight years ago! Oh well, he's currently the best whip-twister behind David Morgan IMHO. Who else makes 1/6 braided whips?

Here are some shots of the Joe Strain 1/4 Scale:

Additional photos taken by Joe.

His work is simply amazing.
I can not imagine the total number of hours of work it requires.

250$ for 1/4 AND 1/6.
I can understand for the 1/4 but for the 1/6 I can't.

Man, those are awesome! Wish they were a little cheaper though...ouch on the $$!

:(

$250 for a whip is tooo much for me to spend.

If I have a choice to spend $250 on an accessories, I would prefer a separate hat instead to go with the exclusive version.

Amazing work, but Greg's whip is good enough for me. I would consider paying $100 for the 1/6 scale, although that would feel pretty extravagant - but $250 is mad.

Trevor Grove sculpted the whip which comes with the PF.
Greg Mowry deals with the fabric parts of the miniature costumes.

Chris

I think he means Greg Mowry, one of the sculptors of the PF. In other words, the whip that comes with the PF is good enough.
