If it's worth spenging $800 on a Cable piece to you, go ahead and do it. As this piece is quite limited, you may not find all that many for sale. However, if we conitinue to see these $800 price tags, I imagine we will see more, and then the price will likely drop, so the risk is yours.

Read they had to open each one and "fix" the battle damage on some of them.

I would be a little worried about the "battle damage look" for this one. The fact there is a "update" about it from Bowen solidifies that worry.

i wouldn't worry too much. i like how they are going through each piece and correcting anything that they feel may make the buyer unhappy. this will be a key Bowen piece for any collector.
