Looking good, clparker! But don't forget Harrison Ford's eyes are green, not blue.

Here's my finished Han (well, I know I'll be doing more to it, but for now I'll stop) I fixed the eyes a little bit, futzed with the shirts collar to make it a v neck using the water method and I also died his shirt tan color as it's supposed to be like in the movie:

well what do you all think...

That looks great! Which shirt is that? Is that the medicom one? I like that the sleeves are 3/4 high. I was looking at pictures online and some pictures have long sleeves and others 3/4. I guess they are both correct (??).
I see that the neck got scratched at the seam near the adam's apple where it attaches to the head, probably when you turned it?. If you plan to repaint it, I suggest you apply several thin coats and then apply testor's dull coate spray to seal it. Let it dry really well. Don't put on the head until the next day so it dries really hard and won't scratch when you turn it.

It's amazing how much difference a paintjob can make. It's amazing that sideshow would give us great sculpts and screw it up with lousy paint.

Exactly! I couldn't have said it better. Talented artists sculpt these head sculpts, and they get drowned out by very poor factory paint jobs!

Commtech your Harrison Ford trio of Deckard, Han, and Indy are some of the BEST I have ever seen! I love them! You can actually see Ford in those sculpts now! How did you do it? :clap

So I've had this unpainted Mal Reynolds head that I got from Trev sitting there for ages, while I tried to get up the courage to paint it. Finally today I thought I'd go for a dry run – that I'd give Han a go as a warm-up for Mal.

So ... day one of my first repaint! I've done a bit of sculpting and painting before but never anything like this. Quite a bit still to do - the hair, more dry brushing on the skin and trying to get those big-arse eyebrows right - but I'm pretty pleased so far!

First pic is work in progress, and the other two I took a couple of minutes ago (I've lost the light unfortunately but you get the idea!). Any comments welcome!

... and here's my finished Han. I'm really pleased with it – hard to get a shot of him that matches what I can see on the shelf actually - he's nowhere near as blotchy-looking in the flesh (in the plastic?). Any advice or painting tips welcome – I had so much fun doing this I think Luke may be next!

Now to find a nice TrueType for him ... should I go regular or narrow-shouldered?

Looks good, but you need to add some gloss to his eyes and lips. And I would go with the narrow body!

Took Unsung Hero's (excellent) advice and clear-coated the lips and eyeballs. He's back on the Buck for now with painted chest and forearms and repainted hands, and I've coloured the shirt to an off-white/calico colour to better match the movie ... pretty happy with him, looking forward to the next one!

Guys, I just ordered these boots that I will try on Han:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270608919030&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

They seem to be a bit more screen accurate than the ones I'm using. They have those pointy ends and have slimmer tubes. I'll just paint them black and take off those little adjusting belt like things. I'll let you guys know how they turn out.

Got the boots the other day and after painting them black, these are the closest, most accurate boots I've found. Also, the great thing is that there's articulation at the ankles.

Great repaints here. I skipped this figure when it first came out, but ended up getting it through GoHastings earlier this year for relatively cheap. No regrets.

They look fantastic! What do they look like where you removed the straps- are there little holes still visible from the stitching or did the paint fill them when you repainted?
