Re: 1/6th R1-G4 custom project 90% complete :)

:clap

This guy looks awesome! Ooh I cannot wait to see him all nice and dirty.... :panic:

He really does look perfect, I wish I could replicate things that well with found objects...

And welcome to SSF batt105!

:welcome1:

I hope you enjoy your time here. (In the Star Wars Customs section, I mean. There can be some very nasty people in the regular Star Wars section! I won't even get into the people in the rest of this place.... :lol)

Looking at this R1, I now think the emperor had only few inspiration when designing Vader's helmet and armour ...

Thank you all guys. I did more paint work today. What a pain.:horror
There's only 2 things that are found objects. The Body which is an ABS drain pipe from Home depot and the top of the head is a cut down clear Christmas ornament. The rest is scratch. Oh wait the tubes are Lego. :wink1:

I really don't think he's going to get a heavy weathering. It will be very painful to do it.

Now I have to figure out the Sandcrawler Treads. Anyone know how big the threads are 1:1?

I think one idea that was suggested was to just build a sandcrawler around a minivan... That should give you the right scale!

Pretty cool, can't wait to get the original back and a few casts so I can finish this guy up.

Here's some pics of more paint detail. I added the hoses, red light and the bottom pad.

hate to ask but are you going to bang him up & weather him at all?
i would be so torn to scratch up that paintjob but if you are a screen accuracy follower...........it's a must.............:monkey2

Re: 1/6th R1-G4 custom project 90% complete :)

Yeah I guess I should. I'm not very good with weathering though. I haven't really done it before or really tried.

Re: 1/6th R1-G4 custom project 90% complete :)
