InArt: The Lord of the Rings - Gandalf 1:6

Video is very helpful! Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. Maybe mine is just defective. Won't hold firmly, no matter how hard I push it. It can't go deep enough into the forearm. Maybe the magnet is just a teensy bit too shallow in the receiving socket? Again, this feels like it's been...

Love this. And I especially love that the name placard is mobile. So versatile! How is that done? Is the placard separate? Are the two disc parts of the base (black one and the sculptural one) separate so it can swivel? SO CLEVER!

This is such a beautiful figure. That portrait is outstanding. But these %&$king hands are killing me! They pop off at the slightest touch. Super frustrating to futz. I know not everybody is having wrist problems, but it seems like a lot of us are. I can't get mine to hold any kind of...

    Asmus Thorin 1/6 Figure

Nice! Upgrade ordered! One of my favorites from all the Asmus LOTR/Hobbit figs.

Yup! Got my rock yesterday! Nice piece. Heavy and well packed. (Using the velcro strap instead of tape on the styro box is cool. Maybe unnecessary, but cool.)

Personally, I would kinda be surprised to see a Gandalf the White from them. (I mean, I'd totally buy it, but I'd be surprised.) It doesn't seem like they're going nearly deep enough into any of these licenses to get to a point where they might do alternate versions of the same characters. It...

Just got mine. Everything seems to be in order (no serious issues with hands or paint). Damn, that sculpt is amazing. But he does seem to have rather a lot of hair and beard. Very full. I need to take some time over the weekend to futz and style him a bit. I don't think it will be an...

Dragon Toy - The Dark Ruler 1/6 Scale

Dammit. I had FINALLY managed to convince that nagging voice in my head that kept insisting I needed this ... that it was too expensive to pick up on the secondary market. :lol

I just don't understand why the big companies aren't making cool stuff like this. (I mean, it would never be THIS nice, of course! But still!) Seems like there's a market for mass produced dios. A bit of Rivendell? Lothlorien? Front door of Bag End? Will you be selling these...

    Questions for Asmus

They're still periodically putting up fresh GtG replacement heads in their store. And, they're still selling their existing LOTR stock. Normally, when a company loses a license completely, they'd have to take that stuff down. I'm just reading tea leaves, but that feels like a hopeful sign...

    Questions for Asmus

Wasn't their last quasi-official statement (on here at least) was that things were on hold for a while with the license? Which could mean a lot of things. It sucks and we all want answers - and figures - but sometimes we just have to wait until companies work things out between each other or...

    ThreeZero Game of Thrones!

:lol Yeah, I think they're planning several series about different groups of Targaryens specifically. (Martin has a two-book history of the family. Though I believe the second book hasn't been released yet. Huge surprise!) The shows would cover different periods in Targ history. But who...

    ThreeZero Game of Thrones!

So true. The time jumps really made it hard to focus on most of the characters. In the first half of the season, every time you got attached to somebody, they killed them or recast them the following week. I really liked it, but I'm really, really glad they're done with the time jumps...

    Questions for Asmus

💯 Were there bumps along the way? Absolutely. Will there be more bumps in their future? Of course. That's true of every company. Even the big ones. (Which Asmus clearly isn't.) But I salute what they've accomplished and really hope they can continue with LotR.
