EFX is definitely aware of what MYC is doing. EFX had been planning to release a studio scale AT-ST this year for ROTJ’s 40th Anniversary, and was surprised that MYC beat them to the punch. This was all mentioned by Steve Neisen on a livestream a little while back.
I just received it last night. I think it turned out great. The likeness and details are great. I can’t wait to receive Macho Man soon, and I hope they announce Andre and Roddy Piper at some point.
If you can spend the money, look up Mike Warren on Facebook. He produces lineage Vader helmets from ANH, ESB, and ROTJ. His stuff isn’t cheap and it isn’t licensed, but it’s the best Vader helmets you’ll ever have access to.
Love the maquettes and I’ll be adding all of those to my collection. I’m not a fan of the Tusken bust. It looks great from the neck up, but the torso fabric and leather pouches look to clean and don’t have that lived in Tatooine look.
I just completed my first build up and paint job on a studio scale model, the Tie Bomber from Sci-Fi Studio Scale Modelers on Facebook. Painted with Archive-X acrylic paints.
E-mail Andrea at RS and ask to be placed on the next batch of Gold Leaders. First 25 have already been claimed, and I don’t think they are planning to list them on the site as a preorder at this point.
Yes, this is definitely going to happen because Hot Toys cares about their customers and isn’t interested in gouging collectors with an almost identical figure. :rotfl
