There's nothing you can do to the figure itself to protect it from a humid environment, so the only option is to reduce the humidity of the environment its stored in, like keeping them in a room with a dehumidifier. But I wouldn't start to worry until you start to exceed 80% humidity and 75°F temperatures together. I live in Seattle, where it regularly hits ~75% humidity and have never had any issue with silicone or pleather, because it rarely gets very hot.
I guess if I bring this to the Philippines, I’m screwed lol . It’s so humid there.

Interesting... I've definitely seen all the threads here about cracking and posing.
I would have guessed that *low* humidity was more impactful!
I don't have anything like this, today, and preordered the Tifa. My hope was to actually have her sitting over the ledge of a shelf, but I guess I'll have to move the figure regularly. I'm not in a high-heat or high-humidity area, but I certainly don't want to break anything!

I live in the Philippines. I have my Cloud Remake for almost 3 years now still no sign of cracking in silicone arms. I maintain it by wetting it with damp towel and immediately dry it off with dry towel. I do it atleast once a year before or during summer.

Ah nice. I will do that to maintain. Do they sell these figures mostly at Greenhills? I’m looking for one (Remake or AC).

sadly you're lucky if you manage to get AC Cloud in a decent price right now. try @ HobbyKorner in GH I believe they do have stocks at SRP price.

Anything that causes the material to expand or shrink will damage it. Nine times out of ten that's caused by bending the joints, since this stretches the material out of its natural cast shape (expanding it), but the environment can also damage it if the humidity and/or heat is too high, or too low. If the dry air is sucking the moisture out of the material, it will shrink, and damage it. If the wet air is getting absorbed into the material, it will expand, and damage it.

A seated pose for a figure that's molded standing up is around a 90° bend to the hip joints. That is definitely an extreme angle to hold for an extended period of time and you will likely get tearing around the backside. It takes some of the fun out of these figures, but I don't like exceeding 45° on any joint even temporarily.

The best plan for something like that is to buy a spare body if you can find one as backup for when the original is damaged. But then you gotta hope you can store it in such conditions that the spare won't get ruined in the long run.

Like you said, definitely takes some enjoyment out of it. I sold all my figures that had seamless arms and/or pleather. I bought the original Winter Soldier at release, rarely handled it or even moved the arms; when I sold it a year ago the jacket was showing early signs of deterioration despite sitting in a detolf and never being touched.

It’s my first time collecting this type of toy cuz I love Cloud Strife and Ryu (Iconiq). I mostly collect metal build gundams or chogokins. This Cloud looks so awesome.

It’s my first time handling silicone. I got to research. If I ask here my apologies. New to this line
No worries, we can all help here. I think I have... *counting* 8 figures with silicone bodies. Some just the arms, some only half (AC Cloud), and some full body. They're almost all in museum poses as I don't change poses too often, and I don't want to risk breakage. For maintenance, you can follow that person's advice with using a damp towel and drying with a dry towel, but I recommend also using a soft brush and applying some corn starch afterwards. It keeps the silicone protected from the oils of our hands and soft to the touch. Just be careful of getting it on the clothing, and blow away any extra dust.

When do you normally damp towel your silicone toys ?

I can't seem to find it or any other gametoys stuff in stock on there, if I'm on the right site (hobbykorner.com)?

Does anyone else know of anywhere that has AC Cloud (without the bike) in stock and at or near retail? This is my fault, I was lamenting I'd not be able to get one, then could have on release but passed it up anyway, now re-playing Remake and hyped for Rebirth and well, you know how it goes hah.

I understand the reasoning of what people are saying, but surely they will do another full Cloud at some point, even if it's not til after a few more other characters are out or even when part 3 eventually comes out. Right? Be crazy not to do another one at least at that time.

Followup more generally - what is the reasoning or understanding of why Gametoys will not be doing/would never do a Barret? Obviously his body could be a challenge, but... shouldn't be impossible, with where we're at at this point in the hobby? And besides that I can't think of anything particularly tricky about him. Is there a thought that he wouldn't be popular enough to warrant the price required for developing and producing the body?

I think yeah it’s a mistaken belief that he wouldn’t sell well. Any manufacturing arguments (“they’d have to make a unique body” etc) don’t really apply to GameToys imo because they make a unique body and all the unique pieces for every single character anyway.

They could easily reuse Cloud's body mold for anime characters if they ever go back to those. Barrett would be unique in the sense they couldn't reuse it as easily. Maybe Zodd from Berserk or Broly if they changed the skin tone.

So can anyone confirm me if the upcoming extra Cloud body set is the costume from remake (First class soldier)?
Supposedly. But it won't come with a headsculpt. I'm just disappointed they're using the old body. I like AC Cloud's body. Sometimes, on the old body, the seamless arms fall out when you pose them up or down and it's a bit annoying

Ah I see. I don’t know where to preorder it . He said it will come out on March but where is the pre order?
