Minimal futzing since he’s still pretty fresh out the box but first impressions are incredible. The bobble head look people describe is 100% a matter of lens distortion. Photos do NOT do this guy justice. Proportions feel great especially after repositioning the shoulder pads a bit (just...
While InArt is almost certainly going to win on proportions, I’ll be very curious to see how the materials compare between the two releases. InArt definitely seems to be nailing areas that HT’s release is lacking in i.e. the sharpness of the abs and the cape draping, but I also feel like InArt’s...
Their funeral Bruce sculpt blows me away every time I see it. It’s not super accurate either but I honestly kinda like how InArt gives Bruce darker hair.
HT’s body/armor looks stockier because of the torso area. Ab section is perfectly vertical when it should be tapering toward the waist and the breastplate looks slightly too large so his overall torso looks shorter than it should. Head is also big.
Ironically, I think InArt’s figure suffers...
Figure instantly looks better when you have the cape draping over the shoulders correctly. Nearly all the in-hand photos/videos/reviews have the edges of the cape tucked under the shoulder pads which isn’t film accurate.
I think InArt wins on the general proportions and unmasked Bruce sculpts (HT’s Bruce has a good likeness as well but IA did the cheekbones/expression better imo) while Hot Toys has the better cowl. Materials-wise it’s tough because IA’s suit definitely feels more harmonious and has a sharper ab...
Was pleasantly surprised by the Tokyo con photos but these pics definitely highlight the proportions issues. Sad to see the difference in materials between the abs and breastplate is still so glaring as well. Still a really cool figure but I think it’s safe to say InArt has them beat.
Probably just copium but I do get the vibe that they’ve kept this figure out of sight for so long because they are making updates to stand toe-to-toe with InArt’s figure. Can’t imagine it’ll look all that different but here’s hoping the final product is comparable to IA since HT’s prototype imo...
Wonder what material the suit is made out of? These Spidey figures are always super tempting for me (this one especially) but I’m worried about how well the material holds up over time/with posing
I know. The updates were an improvement to be sure, but the costume, materials, and proportions are still wildly off. That said, there are some things I do really like about the HT figure like the base and stand and it’s enough to make me hold out and hope that the final product is comparable in...
Wish Hot Toys would post some kind of update for this figure. The last glimpse of it we got was so bad that I feel like they have to have made some changes to compete with InArt’s release. Want to know whether I’m going to need to switch over my pre-order over or not.
Starting to think that the stiff poses are a result of the lack of a stand/crotch grabber more than anything else. My guess is that the magnets necessitate the soles of the boots be in full contact with the base?
I’m leaning on canceling my HT order. Though I am still a little concerned about the articulation on the InArt figure, seems like the accurate proportions came at the cost of very little movement in the legs.
Might hold off on canceling until InArt’s figure proves itself in production or Hot...
One of the bigger problems for me with the HT figures is the materials in the torso. The metallic breastplate and chunky padding around the abs are just plain inaccurate and glaringly so. It's something that's been pointed out since the very beginning and has yet to be addressed by Hot Toys even...
