Well, Marvel has over 10,000 characters and counting...:gah:

I'd like to see Sentry in the MCU.

Sentry would be a HUGE slap in the face of DC. One of Marvel’s Superman-esque characters likely done better than Superman himself lately.

I would see Sentry as a one-shot movie and a psychological thriller as well...basically him trying to chase down the Void not knowing it has been himself the whole time...only the fanboys would know it but the casual moviegoers could possibly eat it up. One thing that I’ve noticed Marvel has been weak on lately is surprises. The best one yet was the Vulture twist in Homecoming. Could you imagine how huge it would’ve been if Marvel kept Hulk’s appearance in Thor:Ragnarok under wraps? The theaters would’ve gone crazy when he showed up...I still remember everyone gasping in the theater during the Vulture twist.

Hopefully Marvel keeps any surprise reveals for IW on the down-low. Don’t follow WB’s folly with showing everything in the BvS trailers.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

Russos sure didn't impress me with CW- too much Marvel meddling in there- nowhere near as good as WS

I suppose - just from what I read about RDJ getting involved shifted narrative, screen times, etc. If that's true. IMO there could have been 2-3 solo films before CW as well - a Spiderman could have been released before CW; Cap/BW/Falcon/Bucky before CW; maybe even a Hulk or Thor.

Now Captain Marvel will be thrown in to the mix after IW. I guess you can call it the changing of the guard but to me - depending - it runs the risk of having a film turn into a commercial/screen test for upcoming features. Also just plain sucking up time from characters you're already invested in.:(

On the other hand, RDJ had already hinted at leaving IronMan. Contracts were gonna end. Maybe Feige looked things over and decided to go for CW while he could and it was probably considered a more or less guaranteed money-maker.:dunno (LOL when the Russos talk about RDJ being an "amazing collaborator" I always wonder if they're secretly thinking "not that our writers needed someone telling us how to do our jobs with IM3 and all, but nobody wants to upset RDJ":monkey3)

But I love Civil War. I don't put CW over TWS - different kinds of films; larger cast. IMO Civil War script/editing is tight; really well done film. Just so relieved Russos are handling IW and not overly-emotional/overwhelmed Whedon. (Don't hate Whedon and he can tell a cohesive story, but just - no - not for IW).

Edit: *Spoilery* promo product shirt image - I like IM just fine but hope IW isn't all about him.

From the looks of it, the new garb mines inspiration from the Model-Prime suit that was front and center on Brian Bendis, David Marquez, and Christian Ponsor’s run of Invincible Iron Man.

Re: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - (May 4, 2018)

I think Whedon’s days with major comic book movies might be over. I’m less forgiving on him than others. He’s good at wrapping a story but when it comes to dialogue, he sucks. The campy comic book dialogue that you know he has his hands on is all over the two Avengers movies and JL. Plus, all the rumored battles with Marvel Studios over AOU really made that a weaker film (Whether he was making good calls or bad calls). It’s hard to discern who made Ultron such a quack but at the end of the day, Whedon’s name is on the script. I don’t think Whedon’s transitions the comic books to film well. He’s lost something in the fold and the realities of film make his writing appear too campy. I’m glad he’s gone.

The Russo’s are the diamonds in the rough for Marvel. WS was a pleasant surprise from relatively unknown directors at the time. CW proved they had the mettle and could handle an ensemble cast. I’m really looking forward to their work on IW.

:goodpost: Yeah, IMO where Ultron trips is Whedon (from what I've read) interjecting his *issues* into the mix. Guess that's a fine line between a director putting their own spin on a film vs. crossing the line and muddying the waters, but 1) that's why there are professional writers, and 2) why I respect the Russos' approach (e.g. character cards in a room, a few people working the STORY, discussing character motivations.) Like Anthony Mackie said, no-one's there "just to be there".

IMO Whedon just bogged AOU down with his ****. Even tho there's stuff I like, like his handling of Vision. BS lines tho like Hawkeye "really pulls the team together" when there's no evidence of that whatsoever.:banghead:dunno

I bet he gives good hugs.

Making sure he gives your butt a good squeeze while doing it. Just so you know he cares. Gender of the hug-ee not relevant, 'coz Whedon is *sensitive*. :monkey3

Looks like Rocket is thinking about stealing Thor's eye patch. :lol

:lol Hah, definitely.

See this is how DC should have done it, to hell with the stigma of looking like they're copying Marvel - it's simply better this way. 2 Guardians movies and I don't know how many years before they link up with the rest of the 'Verse so there's real anticipation and excitement when it eventually happens.
