Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Not criticizing anyone for not opening them right away but isn't it best to at least check them for any potential damage?

I might be in the minority’s but I’ve literally never had any problem regarding damages to my figures (at least to the point of having to send it back for a replacement) or on the other hand you can look like it that every single one usually has an issue. Which they do. It’s rare I ever leave a figure as is out of the box without modding something anyways and any little paint imperfection or other defect I just fix myself along the way.

If these were statues I would never wait to open....but if the box comes in good shape I don’t worry.

I also have never gotten a damaged/missing figure.

Knock knock......

Plus I am sure Timewalker would stand by them. Some people give these for gifts, so exchange has to be an available option....

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

The expectations and hype for these was huge, what with the added 'K.A. Kim effect'.

Then the Winston issue dropped and expectations had to be lowered.

But looking at them up close they're stunning. Even Winston, if his skin tone does have that reddish tint. The sculpts are lifelike, and there's so many great little details in the costumes and accessories.

If the boots hadn't been moulded the set would've been taken up another notch.

However, now that I have them I'm even less inclined to get ECTO-1. The reason being, similar to Bo Shrek writing that Slimer lets the team down because he's "toyish", I think that the car would let them down. So far it's looked cheap and plasticky.

I wasn't thrilled with the look of the ecto either. Especially considering the type of money they were talking. If it were priced in the same ballpark as the HT delorean, different story. I assume they will make it eventually but I have lost all confidence that blitzway can competently estimate and execute a schedule.

In any case will be nice to finally get the 👻 busters if for no other reason than to finally occupy the space I cleared for them several months ago.

Speaking of space, I really wanted to put them in the collection room, which is my favourite room in the house and the place where they ought to be.

The length of the police barrier dictated that I put them into one of my original wider display cabinets. But I've just tried it in a Detolf and it just fits diagonally, so two of the team can stand behind it (with Winston resting his smoking hand on the top of it), and two in front. So the barrier becomes more of an integrated diorama piece rather than a back drop.

They look more interesting like that, than stood in a row.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Interesting idea Kuat. I am likely using 2 separate detolf shelves and had not planned on using the barrier unless I buy the ecto down the line. Now I will give it a shot.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I'm most likely going to have mine in an "Aim for the flattop" display, using this screen grab as a reference for the poses for each:

Though I'm putting mine in a detolf and I'm certain they won't fit flush across a shelf, so I'll have to stagger them a bit.

And I'll be using this screen grab as a general guide to the placement of items on their belts:

I tried them first in this configuration:

But Slimer complained that he was hidden.

So I tried this instead:

Even under a number a cool white LEDs all their skin tones photograph a little darker than they look to the eye, especially Winston.

All pics are really appreciated! They look soo good, especially Ray...looks to have lost almost nothing from his prototype. The accessories look more detailed than a lot of the HT one's which can be fairly cheap looking especially on recent DC figure's I've got.

Really can't wait to get these in hand!

I like what you have done here and I may eventually go to this type of setup. Space for me is getting scarce.

I'll probably go with two shelves at first just because I think I want to display a couple guys firing streams at slimer with a trap deployed. Due to Winston's paint issues I may pose him in a side view to better display one of the proton packs.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Thank you again YH Ha for your incredible work on the Winston repaint. For me the team is now perfect. I’ve provided various lighting scenarios, and comparisons with the original to show you what the repaint looks like under dimmer natural daylight emitting bulbs, as well full 6500k emitting NDL bulbs. Blitzway and KA Kim put in some great work, and imo with Winston repainted, he may be my favorite on the team right now as far as presence. The overall dynamic of the team is 100% improved. I would definitely try to grab Winston (if he’s even available anymore), because I feel he will be one of the most sought after team members, especially for the purpose of repainting him, as it is a dramatic improvement. It really brings out how fantastic the Kim sculpt really is. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see some customizers pick him up unilaterally, just so they can repaint the head, and resell at astronomical prices on Evil Bay. I’ve seen crazier things happen. Lol. So in summation, what I’m basically saying is get him at the MSRP if you still can. [emoji106]

How could the factory **** up Winston that badly? :slap

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Very few retailers still have Winston for pre-order. Once they sell out, I definitely foresee people selling this repainted for ridiculous amounts of money.

Wow, that didn’t take long. Just had someone message me on Facebook and offer me $500 for the figure. Lol.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Ok so this might sound stupid but the part where the zip is looks a bit meh I'm considering either tucking it with a pin or cutting it might help expose the shirt. Also wondering if removing the fat suits might help make them look less sloppy. :dunno

I'm mixed feelings on the set but given I paid £300 and part trade for the 4 pack I can't really complain. :rotfl
