has SS confirmed they won't get this?

I don't think there is any rush personally, IS is know to raise edition sizes to meet demand.
Sideshow couldn't say yet whether they will get it or not.
But heard from IS that Sideshow will get it.
Nothing is 100% confirmed though.

What sold-out was the quota Iron Studios gave them. Iron Studios has not yet announced the ES so we just wait.

I was going to pre-order the SC darth vader
and the website just say it was sold-out..............................:angelsmil:angelsmil:angelsmil:angelsmil

Just speculating:
I think SS just want a big bite on it. It means big ES (like 2000) and good price for them after realised that their Vader would not get any better on sales. So now IS is negotiating with their chinese factory about these adjustments. So the delay.

Makes me wonder if Sideshow will get Vader, since they didn't get Kylo Ren, so if it comes back in stock on secretcompass, I'm jumping in.

I'm sort of on the fence about this... I was talking to a Dutch shopowner earlier who seemed pretty confident that Vader was going to make its way to Europe, but when I email the European distributor, he seemed completely in the dark about it. He even asked me to send screen caps of their fb page where IS said that Semic would provide European distribution, so he could take the matter up with them... Expecting to hear back from them somewhere beginning next week.

I emailed two european distributors and they both said Iron Studios' Star Wars stuff wasn't licenced in Europe or something like that.

doubt ss will have it.. they would have it up by now plus other star wars iron studio items...but they dont..so why would be that vader an exception

I don't get why Sideshow would do it regardless. They would essentially be cannablizing their own market for their own recent Vader piece for what would have to be a very small profit margin unless they are charging a ton for it. If the PF was sold out it would make more sense.

I'm sure the edition size is WAY less for the IS Vader, so I don't really see what harm it would cause them. Not to mention most collectors would still buy the Sideshow because it's half the price.

not me..and I'm sure I'm not alone. I'm willing to pay double but have a vader that I truly like in a pose that reflects his menaces

It took Sideshow months after the spiderman initially went up for preorder before they were able to work out the license issues and put theirs up. We're all in the dark, but it's not as simple as signing a piece of paper. Each side has attorneys going back and forth if they are in fact negotiating or amending an agreement which then has to be approved by marvel/disney's attorneys.

Because it's free money. The bulk one-time sales for their Vader are done, and they're gonna sit and slowly sell them anyways. If this sold out at PO people who bought this would have already bought the other Vader if they wanted too.

No I'm with you 100%, I'm just referring to the ones that probably couldn't care less either way but to save money and still have a Vader statue.

ok fair enough.. sure if people just want a vader and don't care much about the appearance.. they can get a Hasbro version as well :lol

Apparently Sideshow's allocation of Falcons may not have the best QC (see in the marvel thread). Their hands may be a little tied.

Hence the part of my post where I said "unless they are charging a ton for it". Because if they sell it for less than SC like people here are hoping then the amount they get from distributing it can't be worth it to compete for their own piece. It's different from their relationship with HT's since both companies get their products distributed out of the same location.

When you're a distributor you don't pay MSRP :p SS sells a lot of companies products at the same price as everyone else and don't have the same sorta deal with HT. It's not new territory for them at all.

Over on statue forum I believe someone posted that the SS Rep said the statues arrived damaged, so I don't think it's a QC issue.... But it's not the first time Rep's get it wrong... I'll hold judgement until we see actual in hand pictures.. right now it's all kind of speculation/rumors...
