Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Why $150 compared to Toys2 at $129.99?

I've never ordered from them but how does their shipping cost compare to Sideshow? And of course you get 150 rewards points so thats $7.50 less.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Don't like the $20 difference than we originally thought, but it is worth it. That thing is ART! The details are amazing. This is a MUST own.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I broke down and ordered JONES and CANNIBAL JACK. My excitement knows no bounds, matey!

Jones was mine no matter what. Cannibal Jack has been gnawing at me since I saw that bonus sculpt. And I'm a sucker for feathers. :D

Figure I can use the new Sparrow to improve my original Sparrow, with that sculpt and any improved costume parts, then have a crazy cannibal Jack for fun. Plus it's the first figure that my girlfriend said if I didn't get it she would. She loves it.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Welcome aboard the Black Pearl Mr. Wor-Gar! :lol

In seriousness though, you can't go wrong with multiple Jacks :)

Unless one starts killing the others.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Well if the cheapest shipping from Toys2 is $20 then I will prolly just stick with Sideshow.:D

I had thought that some of the tentacles on his beard were also bendy, but I guess not. Oh well, one posing option less to worry about. The dreads on the Predator were kind of a pain so maybe it's a good thing.

Hopefully they are super soft so they do not limit articulation as much.

Some of them are, like one or two, to hold the keys and stuff.

I hope so, but it doesn't say that. That key-holding tentacle might just be molded that way. I hope there's some movement to that tentacle at least, in case I don't want him holding his key out all the time.

I agree, but I have a hunch it'll be molded. A flexible tentacle would likely not be flexible down at the thin tip like the key tentacle is and therefore couldn't hold the key properly or possibly at all. Unless they have a flexible tentacle body with a molded tip, I think it's going to be more solid. I imagine they'll use the same material as Jack's hair, firm to sculpt and paint, but soft enough to pose the head and have some give to it.
