I just got back from my screening. In short, it's better than the second and third but worse than the first. There are some decent moments in the film but it was too long.
 
I almost feel embarrassed to say this, but I really enjoyed it. Maybe it is the place I am mentally as life has been difficult for me lately and this was just the ticket I needed. But I thought it was far better than 2 and 3. I would consider 2 one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I thought the story was decent, the cast was good for what they were hired to do and there was no goofy Anthony Anderson crap, no thigh humping bots, etc. The movie kept my attention the entire time and I never felt like it was too long.

Some of the dialogue was corny and I didn't like some of the stuff the Autobots were saying. They were words that wouldn't be used by Autobots (like bit-ch). And as is typical for these movies, the humans are somehow miraculously able to survive seemingly anything.

While the Dinobots's screen time was short, I thought they were fantastic and portrayed quite well. As much as I want to hear "Me Grimlock!" I am not sure how it would have worked without sounding dumb (unless Joss Whedon was involved - he made Hulk Smash sound awesome).

Lockdown was fantastic, and I like some of the twists and different takes they took this time. Effects were great of course and the sound design was absolutely fantastic.

Nothing to be ashamed of, if you enjoyed yourself then that's the most important thing. I agree with most of your points and want to re-iterate that I too thought Lockdown was used well and portrayed as a legitimate threat. I just felt that the movie could have been trimmed down 15-20 minutes.
 
Yea, I'm used to Micheal Bay movies, and the Transformers movies by now, no plot, but I don't care, I think most of us just want to see it for the robot on robot action!

Exactly. It's refreshing for once reading somebody being honest without jumping on the hate wagon. I haven't seen it but all it seems lately is so many people jumping on hating every film that comes out. IMDb is terrible right now. I really do not get all the vile hatred.

I'll snag this on blu and will be curious to see what's next with how they ended this one. So I'd suggest go and see it. I mean if people can love Pacific Rim or Godzilla (which is better than PR) then I don't see why people can let themselves enjoy these Transformers movies.

PS: Bay did get rid of the stupid jokes like he had several times in the last three.

Personally I am not a "Bay Hater" I love The Rock and enjoyed The Island. Bad Boys 1 and 2 were OK but nothing I will ever watch again.

AS for the Transformer films... I actually really disliked the first one the first time I saw it but enjoyed more with a second viewing.

The second one is Bad... BAD BAD BAD BAD! It was like Bay decided to take everything that sucked about the first film (stupid characters with bad humor) and get rid of all the good stuff (Good action scenes in the middle of a city).

The first time I watched the 3rd film I really enjoyed it. I thought the ending in Chicago was amazing and found myself smiling at many of the action set pieces. It did not hold up as well for the second viewing but it is still MUCH better then the second film.

I will go see this 4th one but I am in no hurry. Just kind of tired of the films.

But the are OK popcorn flix. As for PR and Godzilla.. Well I thought Godzilla was a better made film but not always as entertaining. PR is sort of like a lifeless Transformers film. Too serious to be fun... Too goofy to be serious.

But I can understand why people hate these Transformer films... I think it comes down to the child like humor that only 5 to 8 year olds would find funny. Which is frustrating since Bay seems to be trying to make these films for an older audience.... At least that is what all the "sexy" shots seem to be telling me.

Surely this isn't the reason why so many hate Bay? I don't get it. When they watch his films are they carving knives into their hands? As they seem to expel so much hatred anger it almost becomes alarming.
 
This series is done. The final bullet to the head. Just let it die now.

I was over this series after the first one. And even that one was crappy. It's OVER....

Please let it die.
Please don't go see this movie.
I will be shocked if everyone goes and sees this once again, make $400 million and we end up with Transformers 5...

Bay is a terrible director and very predictable director. I can't stand this guys movies!! lol Stop with the bad acting, stop with the bad humor, stop with the overlong scenes and movies, stop with the excessive explosions and CGI, stop with the slow-mo shots...just stop. Please!!! :(
 
But it's also the same chaotic robot action. Can't make out what is going on. A jumble of effects and camera angles that make it hard to see what the hell is going on. Too much, too over the top. Just becomes a mess on screen.

Clueless twit? The guy watches like every movie that comes out, regardless of genre. He's open to everything and his honest in his views.
In most cases, he is on par most of the time, as he also into gaming, geek stuff, the stuff we like here and talk about.
He explains what he likes and doesn't like. Never biased. But gets excited about the things he really is pumped about.
Yes he talks fast. But at least he gets a review done really damn quick.
Hardly a clueless twit.

He's spot on about this film. I can tell it's crap and not even see it. It's not hard to piece it together.

Saw it thought it was entertaining g but if you seen the others you seen it all. Auto boys didn't seem so unstoppable in this and thank goodness for no army!
 
Jeremy Jahns is a great critic, No actually, Jeremy Jahns is an amazing critic. He should be hired for reviews on TV or something. He should definitely have his own show.
the guy is funny, he's honest, relatable, As far as youtube reviewers go he is the least annoying. you have to at least give him that.

He might be over energetic but he is great at describing if a movie works or not, and Usually he is always right about movies most of the time.
