I hope so, this Ocelot should be a mix between the Ocelot we know from MGS1 and the Ocelot from MGS3. Troy Baker in one of my favourite voice actors :clap

Really? tell me why, or maybe I should wait and watch that mission on youtube...

I can pm you why. You unlock something cool.

is this game a full game? or is it a short game? Is it a two part game? Just wondering. I thought it was supposed to be released later this year.

It’s a prologue to the main game. Pretty much like the tanker and virtuous mission from the past games.

If you have ps you get the solid snake dlc code and if you have xbox you get the raiden dlc code. Both systems have the ground zeroes game which is the prologue to the phantom pain. The code comes in the case. If you register on the gz site you get an additional dlc when tpp comes out if im not mistaken when he deadman posted.

Got the copy yesterday (saturday)... For some reason, I'm not really excited for TPP (may be it's me getting old :lol)
The gameplay and the take on of an open-world style are fresh, yet not giving the "First time playing MGS" feel I
usually have from playing the old canon.

Dylan summed it well. I finished the story close to 2 hrs, nothing of an "OMG" moment

Well I got an early copy of the game. Its alright so far but its certainly feels like a demo. I will answer some common questions.

What does Sutherland sound like as Snake? He doesn't really say much but he basically sounds the way Sutherland does in everything else.

The Length of the game? IMO this game feels like a demo that had some extra content added so that it didn't feel like a demo.

The Graphics are as good as the advertisements.

Its not a bad game but its not quite what I want out of a MGS game. The game play is really fluid but it isn't an evolution of the MGS gameplay we are used to. In short the game feels more like a reboot that a sequel and I would grab this out of the bargain bin in a few weeks or I would wait until they combine it with PP.

Oh yeah and they actually have a reversible cover to the game with some Shinkawa art work which is nice because we haven't gotten his art on the cover since MGS3.

This is the first main release I wasn't over the top excited for. It probably is my age doing that, but being disappointing with the last few years of releases sure isn't helping it.

But as I thought, there's nothing too exciting about this game and should of stayed with the main release. I don't see the reason we needed an early taste for this game, seeing how every MGS comes out 4 or more years apart... waiting comes with the territory.

I think one of the biggest problems is how Kojima pretty much spoiled most of the game in the trailers. Thats why a lot of people don’t have that, “oh my god” feeling. There are “wow” moments, but we already seen most of them. I think the ending was pretty great, and the tapes are a lot more intriguing than they were in PW.

I think you're right about that. There is no logical reason to blow his wad in the trailers and leave next to no mystery in the games. I think MGS2 is the reason he doesn't leave anything secret anymore.

Everyone everywhere has been spoiling this game for everyone. Theres no mystery about it. Especially with the internet the way it is now. Everyone cant wait to be the first to tell it all.

I've only spoiled one thing about the game, on purpose. I'll just stay in the dark until whenever I get it.

If you’ve watched most of the trailers released prior, than you have been spoiled for the most part. Thats why GZ is lacking that shock factor to some.

When I think back, about 90% of the stories were spoiled in the trailers from MGS3 onward, so it's nothing new for Kojima. I just wish he would learn to leave things hidden.

I guess I'll still be waiting this one out :lol. From the reviews, it's kind of disappointing that there wasn't anything significant in terms of story (aside from what was seen in the trailers). I'm way more excited for the FF X/X-2 HD collection on March 18th, anyway.

I still haven't played GZ, but from what you guys mention, it seems as if everything that I've been expecting from this game has come full-swing into fruition. It also doesn't surprise me at all, that Kiefer's voice would sound exactly like Kiefer (or Jack Bauer?). Maybe we are getting too old for this thing. This is most definitely the first MGS game that I haven't been super-excited for.

It's a bit distressing to know that there are still people who are unaware what this game is. I was texting with a friend (who also happens to be member here) about the length of the game and he was genuinely surprised. He had pre-ordered the Japanese version that comes with the PAK figure and I'm glad he doesn't seem to mind the short length.

Regardless, it should be condemned that this game was marketed with innuendo. I have no doubts that this game will be loads of fun, but imagine the faces of disappointed consumers who bought the game based on the franchise name alone. It should have been clear that the "Prologue" is a very short main mission with GREAT replay value and multiple approaches.

Exactly. If Kojima were more forthcoming with the price and the length of this game, it wouldn't have been such a hot topic of controversy. The fact is, that unless someone has been closely following news on the net, they'd probably have a plethora of unrealistic expectations that wouldn't be met, when they play Ground Zeroes and see the game for what it actually is.

They thought they were going to get a full blown MGS game for 20-30 dollars? Whoever thinks that is at fault. They should ask themselves why it cost half or less than half the price of other games.
