Just went through a couple more pages of this thread...Roberto, you did a jawesome job (yes, I spelled jawesome) of matching Wolverine's shoulder armor to that of the prototype. Yeah, I agree, for 2 grand you shouldn't have to do that, but with the uniformity of the wear marks, it definitely gives off a cheaper looking vibe. If I had bought this, I'd pay you to do it to mine. Again, good work and congratulations to everyone else who put forth the time, money, and especially the stress to get this.

Steven

Hey Steven, really appreciate your comments regarding my customising...thank you :hi5: I'm sure i wont be the last one to customise the guards as its a fairly easy fix...provided you have the correct colour of course :wink1:

Then again, its a $2k statue so unless your more than capable i certainly wouldnt mess with it and therefore just leave it as it is. All in all, it really isnt a major flaw per se, its just that i'm a perfectionist and that silly cut-on-the-dotted-line effect they used just didnt sit right with me...

Anyway, i have senta few emails to Sideshow regarding this (not that im expecting to get a resolvement) but i'd be interested to see what they have to say about it nonetheless. :)

Well the brown costume version won't have this "problem."

What if they show Batman lsf this year? Will you still want Doom then?

:rotfl good question BR...well the story is this. After i have recieved the remainder of my pre orders this year (including those which i am waiting to still be put up for pre order) like the Doom LSF and the 1966 1/6 Batmobile then i will no longer be spending any more money on collectibles as i just wont be able to afford such an expensive hobby now that i have an second baby on the way and a new and larger family home to buy. I think there are times when you know when is a good time to stop and i have discussed with my wife that after the Doom LSF i wont be spending another penny on collectibles. However...if such a piece comes up that i'm desperate for...ie) a Batman LSF, A Spiderman LSF or any new Iron Man statues...then the only way i'd be able to purchase them would be to sell off some of my existing collectibles. As sad as it would be, its the only way i could afford it but to be honest, after a year and half of collecting i can safely say that i've been lucky enough to purchase some of the best collectibles out there! You know what i regret the most though, not finding out about Sideshow Collectibles sooner. That way i would have saved a heck of alot of money buying all the old school pieces such as the Hulk PF, Doom PF EX, Captain America PF EX, Thor PF EX, etc...still cant believe some of these retailed at $345 back in the day!

So to answer your question, if they show a Batman LSF at this years SDCC then put me down for one and i'll be immediately selling my Batman PF Exclusive :yess:

To everyone who picked this up... congratulations!

The pics look so good, I'm thinking about dumping my PF's and transitioning to LSF's. Based on owner comments, I wonder if we are on the cusp of a bigger and better trend, similar to what PF's must have gone through when they were just getting hot. I remember looking at a Bowen statue after getting my first PF and being so impressed with the size and mixed media presence of the PF's.

Listening to the comments of the owners, it sounds very similar.

The "CONS" have already been pointed out... space, cost, and lack of selection. The nice thing about Bowen is that you can get almost anything you want. We still don't have a Jean Grey in PF. Who know when or if she will show up in LSF?

Quality is a bit of a concern for me too. If there is a minor defect on a PF you really want, it's more acceptable than on a $2k LSF.

I probably won't switch over, which means I won't buy any LSF's (unless they make a Wonder Woman). I'll just live vicariously through these pics.

Congrats again you guys!

I think the Catwoman lsf more or less confirms a Wonder Woman lsf will be made in the future. Batman and Superman are definite locks.

Dont forget that the LSF's are much larger pieces and therefore an average display room can only hold so many, hence why the PF 1/4 scale is the ideal for a collector. I have often said that i'd like to transition from PF's to LSF's as i've seen the WOW FACTOR that they bring....however, the price tags are incredibly high and we've already agreed that the Wolverine LSF does not merit the $2k price tag so maybe the ideal is to have the best of both worlds and enjoy maybe one or two LSF's amongst an array of PF's...

:exactly: I think even 1/4 can be pretty hard to display as PF's aren't exactly small there selves. I think LSF is for your absolute favourite character's. Thats unless your loaded & with plenty of spare rooms. I missed out on Wolverine but it's not all doom & gloom as there's a few other characters I would love in this scale. I could only ever realistically display one or two of these properly myself.

Yes its true, the 1:2 can only be displayed one or two at a time.

Unless you have the space like me, then its pointless to try to fit them all in a small area.

I agree with you all, once you see these in person, the 1/4 looks a bit silly. I just sold my PF Wolvie, no point keeping the 1/4 when you got this beauty.

I totally forgot about Galactus LSF! Thats coming in before the DOOM, but I do have to say its going to look funny next to all the others, he's scaled like the wolf and is too small I think.

Well, congrats to all who bought this bad boy! Im eager to see where you all go from here? Once you have one, I doubt you will look at anything else the same way.

Something tells me this is not the way that Ave' displays his 1/2 collection.

They get moved Iron, from my main room to this room.
But I decided with some good custom made stands, that I will order later, this is actually the way I want them displayed. You really cant get a sense of how nice they look till you see all of them in person. Not sure if you saw my stuff on review on Youtube but I come in the picture for scale. The reason they are on the floor is to show the actual scale in comparison to one another. They are most impressive all in one place. Wolvie is the perfect scale and rather small compared to the Hulk for example. I think if SS ever made a Hulk it would be a home run with the fans! I sure hope so, anything is possible!

What did that cost you? :thud: I can just imagine the custom fees you have to pay! I feel for you brother

Total with shipping $2279,65 and I still have to deal with the crazy Brazilian customs. They randomly charge the packages. I hope this time they give me a break. :impatient:

Pictures look great...thinking of buying one, actually. are these numbered? limited? Why are they already on waitlist at SS?
