He didn't look that good in the professional proto photos, so he's only going to look worse in crappy poorly lit ones.

He looked good here...

...because he was too small to see any details. With the sheen on the hair, you could almost say they photoshopped Mark's head onto the figure. :wink1:

if this is what he looks like then i will be happy. usually im not any closer to the figure than this anyway?

I get what you're saying, but at the same time, by that logic, likeness no longer matters since you're never close enough to appreciate it, anyway. Personally, for $300.00, I'd prefer Christopher Reeves Superman likeness as opposed to Ford Indiana Jones likeness.

Actually...if you look at that pic closely, there is a larger version floating around somewhere even; you can see that the pockets are much lower and more inline with that of the prototype. So I am thinking, this pic is either the proto - or - the photo's we're all going crazy about are in fact fake!

well i actually am very happy with jones on my shelf and i ended up selling off my HT superman. superman's likeness was much better to reeves than jones was to ford sure but over all... jones win's hands down. obviously it's a personal choice.

and as far as the $300 its a very, very, very tough call. i'm waiting for some "solid" pics to come our way before making the final call but if he looks like he does in the "upcoming release" pic's then... i should be happy. time will tell.

finally im pretty sure i can keep just one fig and sell off all that i dont want and end up paying only a $100.

Totally - the jacket on the pre battle Luke in those recent pics, looks like $h!t. The fabric is coarser, the pockets are massive, misaligned, are a different shape / size to the proto, & the overall fit is terrible.

It actually looks like the SSC Bespin Luke's jacket.. :huh

i agree. i believe they used the prototype in that pic as well. like a lot of people here i think we would be very happy to have that figure on our shelfs.

I assumed it was the prototypes in that upcoming releases group shot. I doubt those photos we've all seen are fake but I'd certainly be happy if that's the case.

Some good points, here, Chubs. I was thinking something similar, in that I might trim down my purchase from the full set to just the battle-damaged Luke and the weathervane, possibly, so long as at least the BD version is acceptable. Have been really looking forward to this release since February, so maybe that would be a good compromise.

Its both figures or bust for me. I'm not big on breaking things up. Even if I don't use the parts I'd always feel it was incomplete.
