I thought there were laws against raising rent high like that at one time. Maybe it depends on the state or something.

That's awful!

Hundreds?! Yikes! :horror

Yep hundreds, and nope, no laws.

I hate when I read someone post that America's soldiers should come back and protect their own. Well, only border lines separate where we live. But everyone in this world is 'our own.' We're brothers/sisters.

So that really bothers me.

Spent some time in the basement due to tornado warnings but all is well. Only thing is, my town is flooded! There is water everywhere! It was actually bubbling up out of the ground in my yard! More rain tonight and tomorrow as well. We had a lot of hail and we could hear it hitting the roof even though we were in the basement.

I hate storms!!!

:exactly::exactly::exactly: same stuff going on here Ween :(

If you could hop, skip and jump over here, you could all stay with us! We would have a blast, we could play move on the ps3. We have a huge pool with bbq grills (yeah, the complex's) ya know, chill and drink booze. But sadly, it's not that simple. But know that I'm thinking about you all and sending positive thoughts your way.

But I'm with ya. I HATE it too..for you.

Now, I don't mind cutting the grass. It's actually relaxing to me.

The thing I hate about it though is, HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE TO DO IT. I hate the end of Spring/beginning of Summer due to how fast that grass grows.

You cut the front and back yard one day and feels like you have to do it again 1-2 days later.

be safe ween

Thanks Josh......and everyone.

It's STILL raining here! Supposedly we're going to have a nice holiday weekend, but I'll have to see it to believe it. The weather everywhere is NUTS! California had a rare tornado yesterday.

As for gas, our's went down a little, then of course jumped back up today because Thursdays are pay day for a lot of people here and then it's the holiday weekend. Gougers!

I hate it because it takes so long. To mow mine it takes at least 3 hours. I'll only do it once a week, that's it! I don't care how long it grows. Once a week. When it takes $20 to fill a gas can, I'm not doing it any more than that. :monkey4

Yeah, I burn through it. I've stocked up on tons of gas though.

It takes about 2 hours depending how long the grass is. If it's high, it might take 3. That's the thing. If you let it grow, it's a _____ to cut it. It fills the bag up quicker (resulting in having to empty the bag) and it's harder to cut.

But yeah, it grows to damn fast. It annoys the hell out of me. There's nothing wrong with cutting, but damn, every other day it seems.

Ween/DiFabio - is there any way you can pay someone to mow the lawn?

I was deadset against it until last year. One of the best decisions I've made concerning our house. You won't regret it if you can sign someone up!

Used to pay someone years ago, but each year his prices just got too high.

Plus, I prefer doing it myself.

As for a ride on mower thrifty, I couldn't do it. That ____ is lazy and I live in a neighborhood. I mean yeah, I have a big yard but we're not talking farm acres. I'd feel like a lazy _____ if I did it that way. Not to mention most of the time the ground is too wet, I have a feeling that that thing would get stuck and make a mess.

My problem isn't mowing or having to do it, like I said, it's enjoyable. The problem is the rate at which that damn grass grows.

John Deere with a mulcher set on 3. Works like a charm! :yess:

When my rider broke, I had someone mow the lawn, ONCE. He charged $50 and just did the open spots, didn't go tight around trees or nothing. Only mowed about half of it too. He only did about 1/2 hour's worth. That was when the gas was cheaper. They'd charge too much now to do it.

I went out a bought a new one right away. Works like a charm.

If I had a small lawn, I'd do it by hand too, but there's just too much of it. It's bad enough trimming!

Those pesky fruit flies that fly around my apartment and I can't get rid of them. There's so many. I just can't figure it out but I hate them.

I've tried this remedy before for fruit flies and it actually worked:

This common recipe to kill fruit flies is quite effective at catching and drowning the many that swarm your kitchen. Simply mix a few ounces of apple cidar vinegar with a few drops of dish detergent and place it in a very small glass. A shot glass works well for this. Then, place the glass next to your produce and dump/refill as often as necessary.

Many years ago I had so many of them...couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Then I realized I had a bag of potatoes in a lower cabinet I had forgotten about. Yucky!
