Eh. Cool piece, but don't think he'll be hard to get down the line. Didn't blow me away when I first saw it, was hoping it'd grow on me...

I have a feeling once people start getting this and post pics people will change their mind :lecture

I'm thinking the exact opposite actually, which is why I'm hoping to snag one for a lower price later on down the ropad. "People" always seem to want the classic versions and from what I've seen, aren't generally open to new designs, so I really doubt this'll be any different.

Would it be different if SS produces a modern cyclops, angel or wolverine for the same line, thats the question for me.

+1 on that...it's what people relate to as that's what they are used to since they were young. It's only logical...

PS: Having said that...i've 'uncancelled' lol. I'm just not cut out for the cancelling game. sigh.

yeah, absolutely nothing wrong with that. I grew up with the 90's cartoon/comics as a kid as well and absolutely love them, but my personal favorite designs of these character's are these current costumes, plus it's always a good thing to give collector's options. I just gave the reason as to why I don't think these will be harder to find down the road, say compared to PF Cyclops or Wolverine.

SS not making Cyclops or Wolverine in their Astonishing outfits are the reason I don't have neither guy in my collection yet. And I'll continue to patiently wait, but I have been eying that Bowen Astonishing Cyclops though

I am thinking the exact opposite. I saw this in person at SDCC and I was completely underwhelmed. The sculpt is pretty cool, but the goofy robot head and the 1/5th scale are really going to work against him. Most people also want a classic portrayal and this Colossus is just not very classic nor imposing.

Fair enough, if you have seen this in person you are in a much better position to comment than I am :)

I saw him at SDCC also. I can handle the sculpt and even the robo face. What bugged me was he seemed so small, even for 1/5.

Im a big fan of the old costumes but as an X Fan I like the new designs too. I agree that its nice to have variety as long as they dont mix the line. Keep it consistent. I do think he could be hard to find later if the make a full line of the team and people like it.

Saw him at sdcc, major pass. Was unimpressed
He is small and had a messed up face.

Does he fit in scale with Scarlet Witch and Psylocke?

I dont care if he's 1/5 ... so long as all the x-men comiquettes are the same scale from here on out.

I actually like the sculpt alot, but the overall sculpt is pretty cool and better than Bowens. I just wish he was 1/4th and towered over my other PFs. :( Even for a 1/5th, he seemed small compared to Nightcrawler and the other 1/5th in the display with him. His 'robot' head sculpt is plain fugly and I don't know what Sideshow was thinking.

He seems small for a "large" character, but yes, he would fit in with Scarlet Witch and Psylocke.

I'm just glad they didn't put this face on the 1/4. One time I'm happy they came out with the monstrous 1/5 scale X-men first (besides Beast). If this face is on the PF heads will roll! (...well maybe just the statue's head)

Ugh,

I'm going back and forth on this one. Just when I'm about to cancel, I remind myself that I love the nightcrawler piece, and angel looks to be amazing. I'd put colossus on at about a 5 out of 10, but not sure if it's worth 300 bucks for a piece just to have a complete "group shot" once all the 1/5ths are released.

And only a few days left to decide!!
