Apparently some or all of the Mondo posters have dimensions that are a bit off from the stated ones. Something to keep in mind if ordering a frame.

Yea I always wait until AFTER I get it to frame it or I just get it custom framed depending on what it is.

Custom framing is prohibitively expensive for me. I love the Mondo Tatooine print, but I can't pay $150-200 just to frame it because it was half an inch too big for the $20 frame off the shelf. I got out the scissors and trimmed it. But I really hate doing that.

I agree that custom framing is way too expensive that is why I only do it for the pieces I really love and if it is necessary. I haven't had to cut anything as of yet, thanks god.

I need to take some more pics. I've custom framed 3 Vanderstelt prints and the Yoda/Leaves print. They've turned out great.

Just buy a generic frame/glass at Michael's using a 50% off coupon, do the math to allow for 1-3" on horizontal/vertical, buy an oversized matte at Michael's, give them the inner and outer dimensions (costs about $20 for their effort), get some acid free tape to stick matte to print, and assemble yourself.

First attempt took me an hour. 4th attempt took me 15 minutes.

Screw paying for a custm framing when you can do for yourself for maybe $50-$75 in labor/materials/time.

Here's the Yoda I just framed myself. It's in a temporary spot for now.

One of these days, I may spend a few more bucks and get the anti glare UV glass at a shop that specializes in these things.

Seriously, anyone can do this, not hard.

Looks good man!

One thing you need to remember when using anti-glare glass is that you get the best results if the print is directly against the glass. You lose a bit of clarity with matboard due to the fact that the print is a couple of millimetres away from the slightly frosted glass.

But, you get that damn refection with acrylic or float glass.

So the second attempt took 45 minutes and the third 30 minutes? :monkey3

Framing is pricey, but they look so damn good, heres my favorite Drafthouse poster, its a _____ty pic. Also the Darkside of the Rainbow just to show the size.
