I was waiting for SS to make a faux-bronze version of one of these statues - I was hoping it would be the t-rex but they made the 1st dio instead - I did not hesitate though - I purchased it with pleasure.
Did any of you ?

Is anyone getting the new Bronze Rex v. Trike diorama?

Not interested in the slightest. :lol

I was and I am still ambitious about collecting every piece in this line - and that includes the faux-bronze versions as well, especially when they are very limited. For those of you who want a complete collection - makes sense to me.

My first impulse when it comes to repaints is to stay away as it's the same piece all over just diff paint. If I wanted a bronze version, getting one of the existing pieces re-painted would be easy enough. Re-paints are more fluff to me than part of a collection really. :/

That is true, I agree with you but don't forget it is still part of the collection, they are a low number of a different batch and that makes a big difference to certain collectors like me. By the way you could paint your dios and maquettes anyway you want, it's not the same.
And the complete collection would be colored and faux-bronze version right, if you re-paint your color to faux-bronze, you are missing the other, so therefore you would still have to get two.

Eh, I guess... heh heh

I guess my collection won't be complete then. I haven't ordered any exclusives either...really to have a full , complete set one should have a set of the exclusives, the regular production pieces, and the bronzes ( should they do every piece in that tone ). Way too rich for my blood I'm afraid. ;)

I have all the EXs, but the faux bronze doesn't interest me in the slightest (even with a 35 ES).

Easy pass on the faux bronze, as I mentioned in the other thread. To skip on a faux bronze doesn't render one a non-completist. It renders one sensible to delegate funds for other pieces in the line which aren't simply rehashes with a new paint scheme. I already posted my feelings in the thread for this piece, so I won't bother to expound upon it further in this thread. :D

Really ? The Trike VS Rex I think was my first piece..it convinced to get others...aside from the look of it.. I love how it's able to stand two pieces on one foot. I could never sculpt something like that. ;D

Yeah I don't know why it appeals to me less than the others. Mind you its still one I want, just not at the same level as all of these others.

No interest in the faux bronze for me either. Hardly any of those have appealed to me. Off the top of my head Yoda vs. Dooku is the only one I've liked so far...I think.

I have pieces I like less than others..if it was a choice between Rex or the Styrac I would take the Rex easily.

I talked to Adrian, he confirmed it took about 5 months from delivery to Sideshow til we actually saw it.

So the Spino should be revealed..in May I think ?

I shall wait with bait on my breath. Although I'm always torn when these come in close together. I'm excited because obviously I want them and I have no patience whatsoever, on the other hand it makes it difficult to afford them all.

:lol Just like a Spino eh ?

Exactly the same here..on one hand I want them all now...because I have have little to no patience myself...on the other I can barely afford one every 3 months or so..no way if they all came out at once. I just need to be rich then my patience problem isn't an issue anymore.. heh heh

Yes, my choice of words was deliberate. Clever, eh? :lol I hear ya on bein' rich too pallie. That Allowsaur dio is gonna be hard to swing but I'm sure gonna try. Of course I absolutely have to have the Stegosaurus maquette so everything is subject to cancellation for that...

I wonder if the Spino itself will have bait on it's breath.. ? :lol a kill at it's feet is fine...but I'd rather the mouth was clear of flesh to show off his dentition better. He's bigger than the Rex so I'm really thrilled at the prospect of what he'll look like.

I just got the Deino paid off, the Allo..I'll have til the week before shipping. One reason I like ordering through Dan's shop..I can wit til the last minute to aquire funds. heh heh

When I first read about the Stego I immediatly thought " I know this is def going to please someone.. " :D

I'm mainly a therapod guy..if I had to pick a least favorite it would be the Styrac for that reason...the Deino was a hard choice as I was orig going to skip it as well..no therapod, just one dino and it's prey...but after thinking it over for awhile I had to do it. I used to be maniac over herps at one point and they made up the bulk of my " collection "..so I have a soft spot for reptiles in general just just related species ( dinos ).
