yeah you're right. when a director's only great effect in film is putting everything in slow motion that makes them great. sorry

You might actually be able to make sense of the action scenes in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" if Christopher Nolan did his action scenes in slow motion.

But hey, I think "must be able to film a coherent action sequence" is pretty much a basic requirement if you're going to direct an action movie. Call me crazy.

yeah and a basic requirement to make a film based on a graphics novel should be having the film back by the creator of the GN. considering alan moore said he will never even stoop to putting the dvd in his dvd player.

What kind of freaky voodoo was behind getting the corpses of Bob Kane and Bill Finger to endorse "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight"?

This guy has been out for weeks has no one seriously got inhand pictures???

My camera sucks and I seem to develop a case of Parkinsons every time I take a picture, resulting in blurry pics. It's the same reason why I never took pictures of my Medicom Sweeney Todd figure.

this is going nowhere

if watchmen even makes more than 300 ill be surprised

I don't care if it makes less than "300". I don't care if it makes less than $300.

All I care about is the quality of the movie, and I don't expect it to do "Dark Knight" numbers (or anything even close) for a variety of reasons. It's rated R, there's no tabloid moribity surrounding it, it doesn't even have big stars in it. The property isn't known to the general population. It's actually intellectually challenging (as opposed to a big dumb action movie pretentiously pretending to be intellectual).

I tend to judge a movie on its own merits, not whether or not it breaks the billion-dollar mark.

So yeah, if it's a bomb I say bring it on. It's not like there are future "Watchmen" installments hanging in the balance.

Grab a cup, set the camera on it, and take the pics outside.....always helps me in some cases.

i hope you mean intellectually stimulating and i dont think Zack Snyder is the director who's going to do it for you....

No, it comes from the source material. It's less-than-ideal that Alan Moore is too crazy to endorse this movie (he worships a primative giant snake god) but regardless of what you think about that all signs point to Snyder doing a faithful job of bringing Moore's vision to the screen. I wish he would have found a way to make the original ending work but I've accepted that he didn't.

Ultimately Snyder is in a position to bring an existing property to film and if he succeeds he deserves credit for translating the qualities in the source material and Alan Moore still deserves credit for writing that in the first place.

couple of quick ones...

What, Alan Moore's insanity is off-limits now?

The guy is crazy. That's pretty common among brilliant people. I have enormous respect for the guy but he's not right in the head. Fortunately for all of us we spews all that craziness out on the page and we have the pleasure of reading it.

But still, he's nuts.

You're entitled to your opinion but you are completely wrong about Moore.

OK, if you say so.

I hope you enjoy your "Only Person in the World Who Doesn't Think Alan Moore Is Crazy" title. If you could fit it on big velvety crown it would look pretty sweet.
