That helmet is comically bad in my opinion. What reference were they looking at? Feels like they're just blindly sculpting these helmets now.

It's so bizzare how much trouble Hot Toys has with Star Wars helmets and even going up to 1/4 scale doesn't help them.

I'm honestly surpised that they don't just get the 3D files from Disney at this point, I get that it's "art" and they want their own artists to make things but when it comes to armour characters 9/10 the licensor will have perfectly good 3D models ready for their CGI scenes. Or at least send them propos to scan or something, I don't know, even the recent Battlefront games did that.

Yeah this is what I assume would happen for armored characters since ILM/Lucasfilm/Disney 100% has 3D models of these characters. No point is trying to hand sculpt these things when the source material is right there. You can work on getting the fabric of the suit and the human sculpts right but why hand re-sculpt these armor parts only for them to be inaccurate?

I'm sure they even have scans of the actors faces etc. too, at this point I'm sure it's 100% possible for us to get 100% accurate figures both in terms of outfits and headsculpts. I get that Hot Toys may not want to go that route but I think I'd prefer it personally.

But at the very least use the existing 3D files for armour. I love the Rex figure but that helmet is a shockingly inaccurate realisiation of his helmet, all they had to do was blend a Phase I and Phase II helmet.

It’s not that the helmet is too big is that a HT TT body is not big in wideness so they add extra padding to make it bigger with a fat suit. What they need to do is develop a chubby TT body then the proportions will fit the armor better

Ugh hate that huge gab between the belt and armor plate that was so present in this show. Boba needs that Jango like belt or the padding that Mando has under his chest plate.

Honestly everything about the body proportions looks off on this figure. I know HT is reluctant to make him as wide and thick as he was on screen, but, well... that's what he looked like.

Yeah looking more closely that does seem apparent.

I'm just gonna wait for the 1/6 scale ver... why QS HT? bring out the 1/6 first
This doesn’t cannibalize any of their own products the way a new 1:6 scale would; they’ve got one version being produced in second batch right now plus pre-orders still open for the repaint version that requires buying the throne to get the headsculpt.

Yeah...unless they're using a 3D scan of the hero helmet...a sculpt just isn't going to look right. The proportions of Fett's helmet be it ESB/ROTJ/Post Sarlacc/Rearmored/BOBF they're incredibly hard to get right.

The BEST 1:6 Fett figures are those who have used the available 3D scan/prints of the ESB Hero helmet. I don't understand if it's Lucasfilm or Disney not wanting to give out the files...but they're out there anyway...right now...
